Clint Bowyer will drive for HScott Motorsports before replacing Tony Stewart
Clint Bowyer announced Friday at Dover worldwide Speedway he will drive for HScott Motorsports in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for the 2016 season, in a partnership deal that will last one season. HScott Motorsports receives technical support from Hendrick Motorsports and Stewart-Haas Racing.

Bowyer, who two days ago was announced as the replacement for Tony Stewart when the three-time Cup champion retires at the end of next year, had been widely predicted to land at HScott in the interim. The NASCAR Sprint Cup series auto race is scheduled for Sunday.
During Friday afternoon’s press conference, Scott would not specify whether the organization would remain a two-car team or expand to three cars for the upcoming season. “Building on his relationship with Hendrick and Stewart-Haas is the basis on which we’re going to build our success”. “When I leave there, I want to be able to leave him with a winning organization and an established team to where he can put the next driver in and go for broke”. 5-Hour Energy, his sponsor since he arrived at MWR in 2012, is going to HScott Motorsports as well.
Learning in June that he was looking at a stint in the unemployment line, Bowyer set to work and quickly secured his future, but found himself in an unusual circumstance where he had to seek out a one-year package for 2016 in advance of his known move to Stewart-Haas a year later.
“What a whirlwind year, to say the least”, said Bowyer at Dover, Friday.
“Clint’s a 10 year veteran that beings leadership and experience and winning ways to our organization”, said Scott. Allgaier is 30th in the standings and Annett is 36th. He is now 25th in the points standings and failed to qualify for the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship for the third consecutive year. It’s going to be a lot of fun. That spans a 15-year Cup career that includes 74 victories and six championships. Since purchasing Phoenix Racing from James Finch in the fall of 2013, HScott’s best finish is an eighth recorded by Allgaier in April at Bristol Motor Speedway. “But I still couldn’t have dreamed this big and have this much take place for us”. If the team expands to three, both Allgaier and Annett could stay.

“This doesn’t seem like anything that’s insane, out-of-the-box, to me, as far as the rules change”, Logano said. I’m a race fan if I can’t be a part of it I want to be helping his K&N guys, helping the Xfinity program and being a part of all that. “He’s in this for the long haul and I’ve seen the improvements already”.
