Clint Dempsey returns to practice for Seattle Sounders
He then sat out the August 24 match at Houston before the Sounders announced two days later that the USA worldwide would be sidelined indefinitely in a bid to get to the root of his symptoms.

However, it is still unknown when Dempsey will return to action.
U.S. worldwide striker Clint Dempsey has resumed training again after being sidelined with an irregular heartbeat but it is not known when the veteran will return to action, his club said Wednesday.
“He’s had a procedure to address some of the issues associated with that”, Sounders GM Garth Lagerwey told reporters after Dempsey’s first training session. “We’re not at liberty to discuss anything further from medical perspective”. Lagerwey said he is “cautiously optimistic” Dempsey will be able to return this season. “No timetable”, he said. When Clint feels better and the doctors feel that it’s safe, then we will consider his return to playing.
Dempsey did not address the media following the session, but he did appear to be in good spirits and his return sounds like a shot in the arm for a team that has gotten just two points in three games without him.
“You don’t want to put false pressure on a return”, Lagerwey said. “He’s been out here jogging and working, and he has a good attitude about it”. The Sounders are now six points out of the sixth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, but with two fewer games played than the sixth-place Portland Timbers.
In addition to missing three games with the Sounders, Dempsey also sat out both of the recent World Cup qualifiers the US played against St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad & Tobago.

A familiar face is back at Seattle Sounders practice today. The 33-year-old has 37 goals and 23 assists in his MLS career.
