Clinton accepts Democratic nomination with ‘humility’
“There has never been a man or woman, not me, not Bill (Clinton) – nobody more qualified than Hillary Clinton to serve as president of the United States”, Obama said to cheers at the Philadelphia convention on Wednesday night.

Hillary walked on stage to Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” and ended the speech with Katy Perry’s “Firework”, Sara Bareilles’ “Brave”, and Jessica Sanchez’s “Stronger Together” playing while balloons fell from the ceiling.
“Now we are clear-eyed about what our country is up against”.
She added: “We are not afraid. We have to decide whether we will all work together so we can all rise together”, Clinton said in an address on the final night of the convention.
The former U.S. secretary of state and first lady said the slogan “stronger together” that has been featured in her campaign was a guiding principle for the country, helping to define a future with a healthy economy “for everyone, not just those at the top”.
First and foremost, Clinton will be rallying her supporters on the floor of the Democratic National Convention and millions more watching from home, who have already made a decision to vote for her in November. Trump said in one tweet.
“I came to realise that her unbelievable work ethic wasn’t for praise or attention – that she was in this for everyone who needs a champion”. Her speech offered an olive branch to those unsure about her possible presidency, pointing out that she alone cannot fix our problems – as Trump asserted he could. Thursday featured a heavy focus on national security, with appearances by retired general John Allen, the former commander of USA forces in Afghanistan and other veterans. “You’ve put economic and social justice issues front and center, where they belong”, Clinton said.
Clinton called on Americans to consider Donald Trump’s “temperament”.
In Clinton’s speech, the words popped up when she talked about a 100-day objective to “pass the biggest investment in new, good-paying jobs since World War II: jobs in manufacturing, clean energy, technology and innovation, small business and infrastructure”. But according to Nielsen’s ratings data, more Americans tuned in to watch Donald Trump’s acceptance speech than Clinton’s. “Yes, America’s destiny is ours to choose”. Let’s build a better tomorrow for our beloved children and our beloved country. We don’t resent success in America.

Mrs Clinton also trained fire on Mr Trump’s dystopian view of the US. “You’ll be writing books about this campaign”. The two-time president, also the first black to have occupied the top post, said he was “ready to pass the baton” to his rival in 2008 as he painted an optimistic picture of an “already great nation”.
