Clinton accepts historic nomination, tweaks Trump

Clinton reserved some of her most pointed language to take digs directly at Trump, wasting precious little time before taking on the Republican nominee.

Millions of Americans have tuned in to watch this month’s party conventions, with the Democratic get-together is ahead in terms of ratings over last week’s Republican event.

She directly linked her candidacy to the presidency of Obama, whom she said does not get almost enough credit for “saving us from the worst recession since the Great Depression”. “No one has worse judgement than Hillary Clinton-corruption and devastation follows her wherever she goes”. Clinton called on Americans to consider Donald Trump’s “temperament”.

She later took a shot at one of Trump’s comments from the Republican convention in Cleveland last week by telling the audience they shouldn’t “believe anyone who says, ‘I alone can fix it'”.

“I’ll tell you something else, [the Founders] also expected a kind of raucous debate in America”, Clinton said in apparent response to the protesters.

When he saw the drawings for the stage he would speak on, Mr. Trump sent them back. She struck an inclusive tone, trying to appeal directly to supporters of US Senator Bernie Sanders and even Republicans with references to President Reagan and US Senator John McCain.
