Clinton Ahead in Blue New York

Bloomberg Politics reporter Jennifer Epstein asked Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton during a press conference Monday whether she believed the previous weekend’s terrorist attacks in NY and Jersey were a plot- possibly carried out by the Russians- to get her Republican opponent Donald Trump more votes.

But while much of the foreign policy establishment has rallied around Clinton, Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric, promises to close US borders and vows to aggressively profile potential terrorists have fueled his presidential bid.

North Carolina likely voters were also asked if they thought Russian President Vladimir Putin or President Barack Obama was a better leader, likely prompted by Trump’s recent comments that Putin has been “far more” of a leader than Obama. Seventy-seven percent of North Carolina voters said they think Trump is healthy enough to be president, but only 56% said the same about Clinton. Polling in August had Clinton at 48 percent and Trump at 39.

Poll results did show independent voters virtually split between the two major party candidates: Thirty-nine percent went for Clinton, while 37 percent fell behind Trump.

“We must deliver a just and very harsh punishment to these people”, he said.

This is important for down-ballot races in competitive congressional and state Senate districts-all of which are in the suburbs and upstate. They’re also putting together a “personality profile” on Mr. Trump from the advice of psychology experts. She supports a strong vetting program.

The Monmouth University Poll was conducted by telephone from September 16 to 19, 2016 with 400 Florida residents likely to vote in the November election. The poll has a margin of error of 3.86 percentage points.

“I don’t know why their ratings are as good as they are right now”, said Greenberg.
