Clinton all but secures nomination, Trump advances lead in primaries
Now Hillary Clinton is firing back again by dealing her supporters a literal “Woman’s Card” on her website. Favorable polls notwithstanding, Hillary cannot be certain that she can deny Donald the pleasure of re-doing the White House in his signature 24K gold and marble, in the manner of Louis XIV.

That leaves Sanders’ most ardent fans – many of whom are relatively new to the political process – looking for someone to blame.
Clinton now has 2,168 delegates, including more than 500 “super-delegates”, against Sanders’s 1,401, with about 1,000 more to be distributed in the 14 remaining nominating races. “That’s why we are in this race until the last vote is cast”, Sanders said in a statement. Just 8 percent of Sanders supporters said they would vote for Trump as their second choice, roughly the same as the portion of voters who listed Trump’s Republican rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich as their second choice. That bothers only one in four Democratic Sanders voters. Interestingly, more Sanders supporters also identify “immigration” as their top priority – it’s hard to think that most Sanders fans have the same desired outcome on immigration as do Trump’s.
At a rally in Springfield, the independent senator from Vermont suggested Democrats have fallen short of their ideals and that low turnout in midterm elections can be attributed to the party’s aligning itself with special interests. Prior to that win, just 40% of Sanders supporters thought Clinton would be the party’s nominee; now a majority does. “Bernie has won 17 states, a lot of them open”, Jane Sanders said.
After a five-primary victory on Tuesday night, Donald Trump took time during a Q&A with journalists to take a jab at Hillary Clinton.
Of course, when your unfavorable rating is in the stratosphere and you haven’t led in a general election poll in two months, no reason not to try.
It seems pretty inevitable Trump will be squaring off with Hillary Clinton come next November, and he knows it. With his past tactics focused on attacking the Clinton campaign, he’s now added supporting Bernie Sanders to the mix. More than half of Clinton voters say that is what Sanders is doing.
Bernie Sanders defied expectations to turn his long-shot presidential bid into a real threat for the Democratic nomination.
Speaking to reporters in Madison on Thursday, Feingold complimented former Secretary of State Clinton’s support for President Barack Obama after their primary eight years ago.
Clinton responded that night, with a comment she’s made several times on the trail.
