Clinton and Giffords take gun issue to heart of Sanders’ turf
Hillary Clinton campaigned Saturday with gun-control advocates Gabby Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly, trying to draw a contrast between her push for stricter laws with rival Bernie Sanders’ record.

“I think I am a different, and perhaps a better, candidate, so I hope that also shows”, Clinton said in an interview after she toured Iowa’s African American Festival at Hy-Vee Hall. Smaller turnout will likely favor Hillary Clinton, who has concentrated on the more traditional, committed Democratic audience.
“If you want a government that represents all the people, and not just a few, come aboard the political revolution”, Sanders said after being introduced by teary-eyed actress Susan Sarandon.
His enthusiasm isn’t singular in Iowa’s capital city, but the question is whether it will translate into tangible electoral success come Monday night’s caucuses. I do so as a gay man who accepts that she may not have always been flawless on every issue concerning LGBT equality, she was still and always an ally.
After outlining her pledge to take on guns, Clinton said the “facts cry out for action” and put pressure on voters to turn her call “into a voting issue”. “I said, ‘God, nobody’s talking about this my whole life, and this guy’s talking about it.’ It inspired me”. It said Ted Cruz would “say anything to win”.
Later she returned to this point, attacking Sanders’ “medicare for all” plan, and saying: “We share the goal and want to get to universal coverage, but it’s somewhat easier to imagine getting from 90% to 100% than 0% to 100%”. Those four years as secretary of state gave me a front-row seat on the opportunities and the perils that we face in the world.
The Times didn’t even name Kasich in the editorial’s headline, instead titling it an anodyne “Chance to Reset the Republican Race”.
She said Republicans were too negative and had the wrong ideas. You can at least tell me if you’re going to win.
Days before Granite State voters head to the polls to decide whom they will be supporting for the party’s nomination, Massachusetts Democrats – many of whom have been actively canvassing in New Hampshire for months – will blanket the state as part of a “get out the vote” effort.
If the Sanders team can’t gin up enough support by appealing to – and registering – new voters who are drawn to his outsider message, it could lead to electoral victory for Clinton.
