Clinton and Trump claim big wins in NY primary
Ted Cruz to present himself as an alternative at the Republican National Convention.

“Trump is strengthening his position, not slipping”, the Alabama Republican said.
Does Trump’s math stack up? It boils down to how you interpret some state rules and whether or not you count unbound delegates.
Besides having a common enemy, Kasich and Cruz don’t have much in common. But Trump’s statement is about that first ballot. He then pointed to OR and some smaller Western states where Sanders is likely to win, along with IN and New Jersey, where Sanders’ chances are dimmer. Fifteen contests with 674 delegates are still up for grabs.
The win will rekindle Trump’s hopes that he can win the necessary majority of delegates – 1,237 – to avoid a contested convention. “The key for Trump is that Republicans want a political outsider and a strong leader and he scores very well in those two things”, says Doug Schwartz the director of the Quinnpiac Poll.
Kasich won four delegates. They are elected by congressional district, three for each of Pennsylvania’s 18 districts for a total of 54.
Trump has a sizeable lead in polls in several states that hold primaries next week, including Maryland and Pennsylvania. If no candidate wins 1,237 by the end of primary season in June, the GOP nominee is determined through a contested convention.
“The campaign team has done a magnificent job to date, but I do think that his experience in presidential campaigns is a very positive addition to the Trump efforts”, Sessions said.
Of course, winning 100 percent of the remaining delegates and retroactively recruiting more is a tall feat. Masket pointed out that it’s pretty unrealistic. And a handful of states that award delegates proportionally – for example, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington – make it near impossible, according to Josh Putnam, a government professor at the University of Georgia and founder of Frontloading HQ.
In Cleveland, the first round of voting will be determined by how delegates were allotted in the primary. “If it got to that point, I think everything’s up in the air”. “I am going to keep fighting for every vote, for every delegate, because each is a statement of support for the values we share”. At this point, nobody is getting 1237.
“There was never going to be a way to get all the candidates”, on the list Jones explained, citing the list’s global scope.
“Senator Cruz is just about mathematically eliminated”, Trump said Tuesday night. Park said he was leaning toward Cruz.

The cast of the video included lookalikes of Clinton staffers, including top aide Huma Abedin, campaign chair John Podesta, campaign manager Robby Mook, and press secretary Brian Fallon – in addition to a fictional Clinton herself. We rate it Mostly True.
