Clinton becomes first female presidential nominee of major United States political party
She’s supposed to become the Democratic Party’s official nominee, but Sanders delegate Werner Lange, of OH, said he and other Sanders supporters will not remain quiet on the convention floor.

Luis Magana, a 25-year-old Sanders delegate from Norwalk, said he wanted to hear more from the first night of the convention about policy, not just a lineup of speakers praising Clinton’s experience and how she’s ready for the White House.
Clinton’s name was entered into nomination by Sen. MORE: Sanders says “Hillary Clinton will make an outstanding president ” Shortly after Clinton officially claimed the nomination, a group of Sanders’ supporters exited the convention for a peaceful sit-in at a nearby tent for journalists.
That’s because the committee will record votes for Clinton and Sanders from all 50 states and territories.
“We are the proud home of the former great president of the united states who brought this nation to new limits, William Jefferson Clinton, and the proud home of the next president of the United States, Hillary Rodham Clinton“, Cuomo said.
But above the convention floor, away from the glare of television cameras in the halls of Wells Fargo Center, hundreds of angry Sanders supporters rushed for the doors, chanting “walkout”, and “this is what democracy looks like”.
Mrs. Clinton’s landmark achievement saturated the roll call with emotion and symbols of women’s long struggle to break through political barriers.
The nomination came a day after Clinton and Bernie Sanders’ camps worked hard to unite supporters- and Sanders himself delivered a message of unity. She remembers seeing her mother go to vote for the first time after the 19th Amendment guaranteeing women the right to vote was ratified on August 18, 1920.
Union leader Richard Trumka said Clinton needed to avoid overshadowing his wife in Tuesday’s speech.
The party moves forward again with Clinton’s nomination, he said.
Bernie Sanders moved that Clinton be selected as the nominee by acclamation.
But she said this election is about issues and she will support Clinton.
Clinton became the party’s standard bearer following days of tension between pro-Clinton forces and delegates who supported Sen.
“Our revolution continues; we will never stop working for a future we believe in”, she said.
At 6.56 pm eastern time, a loud roar of ayes arose making Hillary Clinton the nominee and set up an epic clash with Republican rival Donald Trump. The stakes for Bill Clinton are particularly high following his much-criticized decision to meet privately with Attorney General Loretta Lynch in the middle of the FBI’s investigation into his wife’s email use at the State Department.
