Clinton campaign creates actual woman cards in response to Trump attack

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign is selling “woman cards” to supporters following remarks made by her potential Republican rival Donald Trump.

More than a few of his angry supporters sound as if they intend to punish Hillary Clinton by refusing to vote for her in November, even against Donald Trump. “That’s it”, he said.

“If fighting for women’s healthcare and paid family leave and equal pay is playing the woman card, then deal me in”, Clinton said during a victory speech in Philadelphia.

“The current situation in California tells us that the strength of Vermont Senator is still great and he’s by far the most popular politician”.

Some Democrats have called on Sanders to step out of the race, considering his long odds, to allow Clinton and other party leaders to focus their sights on the Republicans in the general election. “I want my granddaughter to see a woman president”. But Trump’s comment certainly generated backlash on social media.

As it happens, I’ve written myself about how HRC would be wise to offer Team Sanders the fool’s gold of platform concessions and maybe the promise of a look at primary laws and procedures.

Like generations of political pros before her, Hillary Clinton is using an attack from a rival to fire up her supporters and possibly spark a fresh infusion of campaign cash.

In an Associated Press-GfK poll in February, 14 percent said a female candidate would be at least somewhat less likely to get their vote.

Clinton has won 90 percent of the delegates necessary for the Democratic nomination, and Trump has won 79 percent of the delegates required for the Republican nomination.

The time is coming when Bernie Sanders should declare victory – not because he is going to be the Democratic presidential nominee, but because he has already won so much.

Mr Trump would be well served by a running mate with more discipline to balance his unpredictability, she said.

Trump’s messages about women represent a tangle of views, said Stanley Renshon, a political psychologist at the City University of NY. If they remain active, there will be senators, representatives, and perhaps even a president someday who remember Bernie as their inspiration. And despite the braggadocio that is the blustery billionaire’s campaign, Trump’s campaign fundamentally understands that it will need to search for some unorthodox alliances to have any chance of not being absolutely clobbered by Hillary Clinton in the general election.

Responding to Trump’s claim that Clinton is playing the “woman card” in seeking the presidency, the Clinton campaign is now offering donors their very own “woman card” in exchange for donations.

Hughes said she was not put off by them.

Hughes accused Clinton of “pandering” to women throughout her campaign.
