Clinton campaign ‘hacked’ along with other Democratic organisations

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s camapign, which has already spent a solid week pushing the narrative that WikiLeaks releases of DNC emails were sign of a Russian plot to influence the United States election, have reported that they’ve been hacked yet again, and are again quick to blame Russia.

The breach affected a DNC data analytics program used by the campaign and a number of other organizations, according to the campaign.

“Our campaign computer system has been under review by outside cyber security experts”, campaign spokesman Nick Merrill said in a statement.

The brief statement did not specify what types of data the service was analysing, but partnerships with modern e-commerce companies can allow sophisticated tracking, categorisation and identification of website visitors.

A Clinton spokesman said the hack targeted the campaign’s computer network, but investigators weren’t initially certain about the scope or nature of the breach. President Barack Obama has said Russian Federation was nearly certainly responsible for the DNC hack, an assertion with which cybersecurity experts have agreed. Bernie Sanders when it is supposed to be neutral. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., announced her resignation this week.

Two others, against the Democratic National Committee and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, are believed to have been orchestrated by Russian hackers. She said her organization is “continuing to take steps to enhance the security of our network in the face of these recent events”.

Earlier Friday, the DCCC, the House Democrats’ campaign arm, confirmed it had been hacked in an incident likely similar to the breach at the party’s main headquarters.

The hack of the DCCC, which is based in Washington, was reported first by Reuters on Thursday, ahead of Clinton’s speech in Philadelphia accepting the Democratic party’s nomination.

The hack did not involve the private email system Clinton used while she was secretary of state.

This week Mr Trump encouraged Russian Federation to seek and release more than 30,000 other missing emails deleted by Mrs Clinton, the former U.S. secretary of state.

It was not clear what information, if any, might have been gleamed from the Clinton campaign.

The DNC hack exposed emails from party officials actively trying to work against Sen. Most of the DNC emails appeared to have been stolen on May 25.
