Clinton campaign rips the Trump Foundation over alleged ‘illegal campaign donation’
The foundation did not report the contribution to the IRS in its tax filing for 2013, instead listing a $25,000 gift to a Kansas nonprofit with a name similar to that of Ms. Bondi’s group.

“While the Clinton Foundation has received the highest ratings from independent charitable watchdogs, Donald Trump’s use of foundation money to donate to the Florida Attorney General actually broke the law”.
The university, his online real estate training program, had been riddled with fraud charges from across the nation by 2013, the same year the donation of $25,000 was made to Bondi. Ultimately, she decided not to pursue the case any further.
Though Trump has reportedly reimbursed the foundation directly, the watchdog group insists that IRS rules stipulate that the foundation must attempt to recuperate the donation from And Justice for All. The clerk’s standing order from Trump was that, if the payee was listed in this book of charities, the check should be paid from the Trump Foundation, not from Trump’s own account. The Kansas group did not receive any funds from Trump’s foundation.
In light of the Trump foundation’s illegal donations to Bondi, investigating where the other money went is a no-brainer. Jeffrey McConney, senior vice president and controller at the Trump Organization, said once they had heard about the mistake, Trump filed paperwork with the IRS informing them of the donation and paid the fine.
And yet, as of now, only one 2016 presidential candidate has been fined for misusing a charitable foundation to make an improper political donation – and that candidate isn’t Hillary Clinton.
“I am quite taken aback by the foundation making a political contribution to the Florida AG who was just about to investigate Trump University and then ending the investigation”, Clinton said.
Trump paid the IRS a $2,500 penalty this year after reports surfaced about the gift and disclosure error.

What followed, a Trump Organization representative told The Post in March, were a series of mistakes that led to the IRS filing oversight. They said several weeks then passed before her office announced that she was considering joining NY state in investigating complaints against the for-profit education business.
