Her doctor later revealed she had been diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday and advised to rest but had become overheated and dehydrated at the ceremony.

The cancellation comes after hours of uncertainty, where her aides were unclear with press whether she would be able to carry on with a planned West Coast fundraising trip on Monday and Tuesday after a medical emergency she experienced during the September 11 commemoration event in NY on Sunday.

About 90 minutes after arriving at her daughter’s apartment, Clinton emerged, walking without assistance, waving to the crowd.

“It’s a lovely day in NY”, she added, while smiling and waving to supporters on the street before getting into her motorcade.

In the meantime, Twitter user Zdenek Gazda published a video of the politician being held up by a team of aides as a van pulls up.

She appeared to stumble as she was helped into the vehicle, and had to be held up on either side by members of her entourage. After she returned home to Chappaqua, Clinton canceled a two-day campaign trip to California scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

“Secretary Clinton has been experiencing a cough related to allergies”, Dr. Lisa R. Bardack said in a statement Sunday.

The Clinton campaign had not disclosed her pneumonia diagnosis until Bardack’s statement.

Trump has repeatedly questioned Clinton’s health, telling supporters last month she “lacks the mental and physical stamina” to serve as president and fight Islamic State militants. She said she suffers from seasonal allergies and had increased her dosage of antihistamines. “He leaned over and told me that ‘Hillary wasn’t feeling well.’ I said, ‘Really?'” Spokesman Nick Merrill eventually said Clinton had gone to her daughter’s nearby apartment, but refused to say whether the former secretary of state had required medical attention. Earlier she left ceremonies commemorating the 15th anniversary of the September 11 attacks feeling “overheated”.

United States presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has cancelled a leg of her campaign trail after being diagnosed with pneumonia.

Clinton is up to date on health tests, including a colonoscopy and a few other tests not often seen in a presidential candidate’s health disclosure: gynecologic exam, mammogram and breast ultrasound.

Trump also said he had a physical last week and will release detailed health information when he gets the results, which are expected in coming days.

In a letter released by her doctor in July 2015, Clinton was described as being in “excellent health” and “fit to serve” in the White House.

Her schedule modification comes in the heat of a tightening race, and just two weeks before she and Republican rival Donald Trump square off in their high-pressure first presidential debate. Chuck Schumer. “It was pretty hot out there, but she seemed fine to me, and left on her own accord”. He said the incident should encourage more transparency from the campaign about her health. Wearing sunglasses, she paused to take a photo with a young girl before getting into her motorcade. She then resumed her speech.

Clinton’s doctor reported she is fully recovered from the concussion, which led to temporary double vision and discovery of a blood clot in a vein in the space between her brain and skull.
