Clinton casts her economic plan as antidote to ‘trickle-down economics’
The Republican White House hopeful kicked off the day with a blistering assault on the Democratic former secretary of state, calling her a “world-class liar” and castigating her “disgraceful” record on trade, foreign policy and immigration.

In a remarkably negative speech against a presidential rival, the presumptive Republican nominee said Clinton “may be the most corrupt person ever to seek the presidency of the United States”, a line that drew that drew a standing ovation from supporters packed into a meeting room at a Trump hotel in Manhattan.
Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, received an endorsement Wednesday from a heavyweight foreign policy adviser to Republican presidents.
“Hillary Clinton has perfected the politics of personal profit and theft”.
In his almost 40-minute speech – which he read with uncharacteristic restraint, from a teleprompter – Trump sought to portray Bill and Hillary Clinton as dishonest and self-interested, warning that a Hillary Clinton presidency could destabilize the country’s “rigged” economy and weaken national security.
She laid out her vision for the economy: “We need to make sure our economy works for everybody, not just those at the top, not just for the rich or the well-connected, not just for people living in some parts of the country or people from certain backgrounds and not other”. When it comes to Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state, Trump said, “She’s virtually done nothing right”.
Democrat Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday that if Republican rival Donald Trump wins the White House, it will be a disaster for the USA economy, predicting a “Trump recession”.
“Her decisions spread death, destruction, and terrorism everywhere she touched”, Trump said, reading from a teleprompter during the 45-minute speech. On Monday, he fired his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, in the latest of a series of staff shakeups.
She cited economic experts warning that Trump’s policies would cut jobs and raise the national debt, putting Americans back into a recession.
Seeking to steady his campaign after a hard period, Mr Trump cast himself as the White House candidate best positioned to address Americans’ economic interests. That compares with 46.6 percent support for Clinton and 32.3 percent for Trump on June 12, a date that marked her widest lead for the month. Clinton took another jab at the GOP by noting that twice Republican presidents have caused an economic “mess” and “a Democratic president has had to come in and clean it up”.
Hillary Clinton has been branded a lair and a thief by Donald Trump.
“In return, Hillary Clinton got rich”, Trump told his cheering supporters in NY. A Reuters/Ipsos survey this week showed that 44.5 per cent of likely voters backed Mrs Clinton, while 35.5 per cent supported Mr Trump. She should be “scorned” for the trade deficit, he said.
