Clinton considering Warren, not Sanders, for running mate
His supporters, it seems, will accept nothing less.

“We need at the Democratic National Convention, to approve a Progressive platform, the most Progressive platform ever passed by the Democratic Party”, Sanders said during a press conference Tuesday.
What Sanders did not do in the video, a transcript of which was posted as Sanders spoke, was drop out of the race for president, or at least not explicitly. “There is a huge win-win opportunity”, said Oregon Sen.
And some Sanders’ supporters still hold Clinton in low esteem.
Details about the live stream give no indication of what Sanders could announce, but teases “the political revolution continues”.
“The two discussed a variety of issues where they are seeking common ground: substantially raising the minimum wage, real campaign finance reform, making health care universal and accessible, making college affordable and reducing student debt”. Bernie Sanders has called for new leaders at the party, a point he raised during his private meeting earlier this week with Clinton. “It is Secretary Clinton’s job to explain to those people why she should… get their support”.
“There’s going to be some genuine discussion and debate about how to unify all these disparate movements, how to take the energy and enthusiasm, and coalition that came together around the Sanders campaign and continue it”, National Nurses United spokesman Chuck Idelson told CNN. Democrats say Warren could ignite excitement in reluctant Sanders supporters, who do not view Clinton as progressive enough.
DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has become a flashpoint in negotiations between Clinton and her primary rival, Sen. “It’s pretty clear that Hillary is the nominee”, said Rep. Peter Welch, D-Vt., on the timing of a Sanders endorsement. Jen O’Malley Dillon, who was Barack Obama’s battleground-states director in 2008 and deputy campaign manager in 2012, has been at the DNC for months, beginning a process of transitioning to a coordinated effort with the Clinton campaign. Eight years ago, it took Clinton about three weeks before she joined Obama in the joint event in New Hampshire. That’s a move that would be welcomed by Sanders’ loyalists. “We hope the Democratic Party establishment can figure out a way to open its arms and welcome into the party fold the people who have been excited by Bernie’s campaign”, Briggs said.
A veteran of the primary process said lingering hard feelings are nothing unusual for the end of a campaign.
“I would think his people would be very unhappy if he capitulated right away”, Miringoff said.
