Clinton Couldn’t Remember Briefings After Concussion — FBI Report

“Clinton’s reckless conduct and dishonest attempts to avoid accountability show she can not be trusted with the presidency and its chief obligation as commander-in-chief of the U.S. armed forces”, Miller said.

In response to requests from the State Department, the Clinton camp turned over the other half, roughly 30,000 emails in total, to the State Department in December 2014. “Her using 13 different devices in four years shows it was never about convenience”. “She relied on State officials to use their judgment when emailing her and could not recall anyone raising concerns with her regarding the sensitivity of the information she received at her email address”.

The documents also include technical details about how the private server was set up.

The FBI documents state that several attempts were made to hack into Clinton’s private server through brute force, which means the guessing of login credentials.

The Justice Department then closed the investigation. The FBI cited exemptions protecting national security and investigative techniques. The FBI notes indicate they found phishing emails sent to Clinton’s private account on multiple occurrences.

Clinton and her legal team deleted thousands more emails she claimed were personal and private.

Paul Ryan, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, said that the documents proved Clinton’s “reckless and downright dangerous” handling of classified information during her tenure as secretary of state.

The FBI released its report on Friday afternoon before the Labor Day holiday weekend, a time many Americans are preparing to travel.

In the memo, employees were discouraged from using personal email accounts for government business and were instructed to forward any work-related emails sent or received on a personal device to their State Department-issued accounts in order to preserve them for archiving.

“These documents demonstrate Hillary Clinton’s reckless and downright unsafe handling of classified information during her tenure as secretary of state”, Paul Ryan, the Republican speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, said in a statement. “Because it’s better for her to say that, but who would not understand that?”

The other big eyebrow-raiser is that it appears, at least based on what the Federal Bureau of Investigation was told, that Clinton had very little grasp of what classified markings on documents even were or what they meant.

When used in documents, the capital “C” marks paragraphs that are “Confidential”, the lowest tier of classified information.

Donald Trump’s campaign said Friday that the FBI’s release of documents from its July interview with Hillary Clinton during the email probe further pointed to the Democratic nominee’s “tremendously bad judgment and dishonesty”.

The FBI has said Clinton was “extremely careless” in her use of the server, but in a July report, the agency didn’t recommend bringing charges against her.

“The truth is she was using it (her personal email) for a year before I sent her a memo telling her what I did”, he told the paper.

She said she was not told the department’s process for classifying documents.

A few weeks after The New York Times first revealed the information about Clinton’s private email use, a person – whose name has been redacted – “deleted the Clinton archive mailbox” and “used BleachBit to delete the exported.PST files he had created on the server system containing Clinton’s emails”.
