Clinton displays foreign policy expertise in Democratic debate

Her above-the-fray posture in the debate signalled Clinton’s confidence, just weeks before the first votes in Iowa, that neither of her Democratic rivals would prove a significant obstacle on her march to the nomination.

Former secretary of state Clinton, Senator Bernie Sanders and ex-governor Martin O’Malley of Maryland pointed to a need to boost USA security, raise wages and protect women, minorities and the disadvantaged in a face-off in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Clinton said that ISIS is going to be “showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists”.

“If you go back and look at social media, if you look at what’s going on, they are definitely pointing at Mr. Trump”, her campaign chairman, John Podesta, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press”.

Republican Donald Trump is “a big Christmas gift wrapped up under the tree” for Hillary Clinton because he couldn’t beat the 2016 Democratic presidential front-runner in a general election, Carly Fiorina said Sunday. “Knowing the Clintons and knowing Hillary, she made it up”, Trump said. “And if I find anybody else involved in this, they will also be fired”, Sanders said. “We’ve got to get back to where people can save money again, where they can invest in their families”.

She added: “We need to make sure that the really discriminatory messages that Trump is sending around the world don’t fall on receptive ears”. “I think all three of the candidates are very strong”.

Clinton’s campaign also sent Business Insider a tweet from an alleged ISIS sympathizer’s account that commented on Trump’s refusal to rule out the potential creation of registry for Muslim-Americans.

“Secretary Clinton is too much into regime change and a little bit too aggressive without knowing what the unintended consequences might be”, Sanders said.

“We will not get the support on the ground in Syria to dislodge ISIS if the fighters there – who are not associated with ISIS, but whose principal goal is getting rid of Assad – don’t believe there is a political diplomatic channel that is ongoing”.

The debate unfolded amid a minor scandal between the Clinton and Sanders campaigns over an apparent data breach when at least one Sanders staffer took advantage of a computer glitch to peek at Clinton voter information. “I was so proud of her tonight, but the proof is in the voting”.

Palmieri said on ABC’s “This Week”, “She didn’t have a particular video in mind, but he is being used in social media”. Hours later, his campaign released a video contrasting her comments with TV footage of the San Bernardino and Paris attacks.
