Clinton “divides people into baskets as if they’re objects”

After leaving her daughter’s home, Clinton was driven to her home in Chappaqua, New York, though it was unclear if she made a stop along the way.

“Now the new person is going to try to really be hard on Trump to show the establishment what he can do”, Trump argued.

Speaking to “Fox & Friends” on Monday morning, the Republican nominee said he hopes Clinton gets well and that he will see her at the first debate in two weeks. “But, you know, it was quite sad, to be honest with you, and I hope she gets well soon”. Several hours later, her campaign revealed she had been diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday and advised to rest.

“The racists, sexists, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it”, she said. “To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables”, Clinton said.

Dr. Amesh Adalja, an infectious disease expert and senior associate at the UPMC Center for Health Security in Pittsburgh who is not treating Clinton, said recovery from pneumonia can vary from about a week to longer, depending on the severity. He will release the results soon.

“I don’t think they’ll replace her”, he said.

Whether Clinton likes it or not, her “overheating” episode comes at a very bad time for her campaign.

Mr. Trump got his chance to reiterate his charge after Ms. Clinton told a gathering of donors on Friday that half of his supporters are a “basket of deplorables”.

Trump and his supporters have hinted at Clinton’s potential health issues for months, questioning her energy when she takes routine days off the campaign trail and reviving questions about a concussion she sustained in 2012 after fainting. But some, including the anti-racism advocate, DJ, and video blogger Jay Smooth, have come out in defense of Clinton’s remarks.

“To press lamenting @HillaryClinton’s health/transparency: “powering through” illness is what women do: Stoically, every. single. day”, she said.

Clinton left a 9/11 memorial ceremony in New York City early on Sunday after falling ill.

Clinton’s physician Lisa Bardack said in a statement, “Clinton has been experiencing a cough related to allergies”.

James Woolsey, who has been sharply critical of President Barack Obama’s foreign policy, says he agrees with Trump’s call to spend more on the military.

She had been scheduled to attend fundraisers on Monday and Tuesday in California, and tape an episode of Ellen DeGeneres’s talk show.

Clinton exited the apartment on her own shortly before noon, wearing sunglasses and carrying a handbag.

Her doctor says she is fighting a case of pneumonia. She is more likely to give her economic-themed speech in a battleground state far closer to New York: Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Ohio.

This is in stark comparison to Republican John McCain, who in 2008 released all 1,173 pages of his medical records following speculation that aged 71 the Arizona senator was unlikely to be physically fit enough to deal with the demands on being president. That official spoke on condition of anonymity, because he wasn’t authorized to disclose information publicly.
