Clinton ‘Excited’ About Historic Nature of Likely Nomination
Hillary Clinton had a terrific weekend, besting Bernie Sanders in the U.S. Virgin Islands on Saturday and in Puerto Rico on Sunday.

Clinton will be the first woman in US history to receive a presidential nomination from a major party.
Earnest also made clear that Obama – who has already taken a number of shots at Republican candidate Donald Trump – is eager to get out on the campaign trail on behalf of Democratic candidates, including the presidential nominee. When including superdelegates, her lead over Sanders is substantial – 2,357 to 1,565.
The AP surveyed all 714 superdelegates repeatedly in the past seven months, and only 95 remain publicly uncommitted.
It’s likely that Clinton will attract enough support in those contests to claim the nomination.
Clinton was the projected victor over Sanders in the U.S. island territory, according to NBC News.
“Any woman who is running for president – your question implies that any woman, that any person, any woman who is running for president is by definition the best candidate”, Sanders said.
“The card we’re going to play against Trump is that he has always been for himself”.
Once a campaign rival, President Barack Obama could soon be one of Hillary Clinton’s strongest supporters. And I looked at the way The New York Times covered it. And I shed my good-girl reservations about an early Clinton declaration of victory.
Super delegates are Democratic Party bigwigs who are not bound to any candidate or to the results of statewide votes and do not officially cast their vote until the convention. She is also expected to win in Washington, D.C., which holds the final primary of the year on June 14. Mr Sanders said on Sunday on CNN.
Hillary Clinton will square off against Donald Trump in the November 8 United States presidential election. “There’s a lot of people we want to make sure turn out today”.
Hillary Clinton won the race over Bernie Sanders.
For that reason Mr Sanders is still refusing to pull out of the race, even after Mrs Clinton reaches the magic number after voting in a handful of states including delegate-rich California tomorrow (Australian time).
Meanwhile, Clinton once again slammed her leading Republican challenger over some of his comments, saying she would lead a contentious campaign against Trump.
“And what did she use to prove that point?”
“He is not just unprepared”.
“Obviously, I’m excited about having the President’s support because I have said throughout this campaign, I was honored to serve in the President’s cabinet as his Secretary of State”, she said. His liberal positions pushed the issue of income inequality into the spotlight and drove Clinton to the left on issues such as trade, Wall Street and campaign finance reform.

Obama hasn’t shied away from making candid remarks about the presidential race in front of donors, including last Friday in Miami when he warned high-dollar Democrats they needed to “run scared” for the entire election. He caught fire among young voters and independents, his campaign gaining momentum from a narrow loss in Iowa in February and a commanding victory in New Hampshire. Obama was formally nominated at the party’s convention in August. She has just over 60 percent to Sanders’ almost 39 percent, with roughly two-thirds of the vote tallied.
