Clinton faces flak over her running mate
Bernie Sanders to back her campaign. The Florida congresswoman heeded Mr. Sanders’ longstanding call to leave as party chief.

Kaine’s nomination comes at a time when the party is seeking unity after allegations of corruption in the primary voting led to the resignation of DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. He served as Chair of the Democratic National Committee from 2009 to 2011.
Mr. Trump appeared to relish the Democratic chaos on Sunday, writing on Twitter- “The Dems Convention is cracking up”. His campaign chief, Paul Manafort, went further and called on Clinton to drop out of the race altogether.
Trump cast himself as the law-and-order candidate in a nation suffering under crime and hobbled by immigration, as the GOP convention stuck to a gloom-and-doom theme.
Clinton’s campaign, citing a cybersecurity firm hired to investigate the leak, blamed Russian Federation for hacking the party’s computers and suggested the goal was to benefit Donald Trump’s campaign.
The Republican nominee has repeatedly praised Putin; a number of his investors in his real estate projects are Russian; his campaign manager, Paul Manafort, has worked for pro-Russian oligarchs in Ukraine; and Trump has taken foreign policy positions on North Atlantic Treaty Organisation that align with Russian geopolitical interests. That gathering exposed deep, lingering reservations about Donald Trump from within his own party.
First lady Michelle Obama is set to speak Monday.
Many of Sanders’ supporters at the Democratic National Convention remain deeply committed to their candidate, holding demonstrations in Philadelphia and booing mentions of Clinton on the convention floor.
She announced Kaine, a Virginia senator, as her running mate Friday.
Trump said sadly that “Bernie’s given up” and proclaimed: “I bet you a lot of their people will come to us and the reason they’ll want come is trade”. “And I’ll move to Canada”. “And he is a progressive who likes to get things done”.
“This is his ‘hood, this is Kaine country”, said Wolf.
Kaine – who’s previously served as Virginia’s lieutenant governor and governor and is now a member of the Senate Armed Forces Committee – reportedly garnered Bill Clinton’s support through the strength of his domestic and global security experience.
Kaine’s back-story covers some shortcomings on the Clinton ticket and, coming from a battleground state – since 2000, the candidate who has won Virginia has won the White House – he gives the former USA secretary of state a push in the race to the required 270 electoral college votes.

There are now 4,763 total delegates, and 712 of them are superdelegates. Outside the convention hall, several hundred marched down Philadelphia’s sweltering streets with signs carrying messages such as “Never Hillary”. The correspondence, posted by WikiLeaks over the weekend, showed top officials at the supposedly neutral DNC favoring Clinton over Sanders in the presidential primaries.
“It was concerning last week that Donald Trump changed the Republican platform to become what some experts would regard as pro-Russian”, Mr. Mook said.
