Clinton family will stop raising money for foundation if Hillary elected president
While Hillary Clinton stepped down from its board after launching her 2016 campaign, her husband and daughter have remained in leadership roles, prompting questions about the ability of the organization to continue its work during a future Clinton administration.

Considering the scale and scope of the foundation, Mr. Wonderlich said it was easy to “name a hundred different types of conflicts”.
“In my opinion, and in the opinion of lots of Americans, this should have been done long ago”, she said.
Bill Clinton last month promised the foundation would change if his wife is elected. In that scenario, she could avoid answering before election day on November 8, although the group, Judicial Watch, has suggested it will try to get Clinton questions earlier.
Even if Hillary were somehow able to completely separate the donations-to say nothing of her and her husband’s speaking fees, which have often come from numerous same corporations who fund their family foundation-from her official decision-making, she simply has no way of preventing the appearance of pay for play. Others have raised questions about undue foreign influence while Clinton was the nation’s top diplomat, with Trump alleging donations to the organization were evidence of pay-to-play politics.
Hillary Clinton is the Democratic presidential nominee. That’s similar to the 45 percent of voters who were bothered by Trump’s refusal to release his tax returns.
Former president Bill Clinton also announced to staff Thursday that the final meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative would be held in September in New York City, regardless of the outcome of the election. Bill Clinton also plans to cease giving paid speeches – another move meant to prevent further accusations of cronyism.
For years the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation thrived largely on the generosity of foreign donors and individuals who gave hundreds of millions of dollars to the global charity. “The CHAI Board will be meeting soon to determine its next steps”.
“A$3 Canadian charity called the Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership – which is run by one of Bill Clinton’s close friends, Frank Giustra – has been moving significant sums of money into the Clinton Foundation’s flagship in NY”.
The latest changes are unlikely to satisfy critics.
If Clinton wins, imposing the new restrictions could prove awkward in some cases. Ultimately, doesn’t this just encourage foreign actors to get their “donations” in early?
The Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership has been another flashpoint. Though this change in policies seems to be a tacit acknowledgement that the perceptions about the Clinton Foundation are a cloud hanging over her candidacy, which is beset by low ratings from the public on honesty.
Some critics suggest that some of those 2 billion dollars came from foreign governments, some supporting policies that are completely antipodean to those upheld by the United States, which puts Clinton at a risk of possible blackmail if she makes it to the White House.
“The real question here is has Secretary Clinton been taking questions from reporters – which she absolutely has”, Mook said. The nexus between the State Department and the Clinton Foundation presented vast new opportunities for bringing in cash. “And I’ve been saying this for a long time”, Trump said.

More than half of registered voters surveyed this week said the family nonprofit, which has come under rising scrutiny, say it should not accept such donations, especially from other countries.
