Chelsea Clinton’s speech, much like her father’s earlier this week, offered a more personal portrayal of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
But Clinton did what she always does.
“I’m voting the fighter who never, ever gives up – who believes that we can always do better when we come together and work together”, she added. Clinton also attacked Trump for claiming that he knew about ISIS more than the U.S. generals. “You dont.” The reaction drew cheers and applause from the audience. “Well, you know a courageous Democratic President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt came up with the ideal rebuke to trump 80 years ago. They say, we will fix it”.
Charlotte, Chelsea’s two-year-old daughter “loves FaceTiming with grandma”, she said.
“Not everything has been unified at this convention, but we were absolutely unified in that convention hall”, she said.
“Even in the middle of crisis, she listens to people, and keeps her cool, and treats everybody with respect”.
She is “the progressive who will protect our planet from climate change and our communities from gun violence”, Chelsea Clinton said. Naturally, statements like these made sure Twitter users had a field day in passing their two cents on the #DemConvention. As one 30-year-old African American man, who identifies as an independent, said when asked what he was ashamed of in American politics, “Donald Trump and his buffoonery”.

Her formal acceptance of the nomination made history, cementing her place as the first female presidential candidate to be selected from a major party. “She makes me proud every single day”. Biden, who almost entered the nominating contest before declining to do so last Fall, underscored American values that he said exist in Clinton in the wake of Trump’s more negative outlook on the current state of the United States.
Clinton was introduced by her daughter, Chelsea, who spoke warmly of her mother as a woman “driven by compassion, by faith, by kindness, a fierce sense of justice, and a heart full of love”.

A separate pre-convention controversy over hacked Democratic Party emails showing favouritism for Mrs Clinton in the primary threatens to deepen the perception that she prefers to play by her own rules. “In contrast to the dark Republican message, Democrats have become the party of light, the party of hope”.
