Clinton showed off a scarf she bought from Knotty Ties, a Denver company, that was made in Colorado.
“If Donald Trump can plead bankruptcy six times and refinance his debts, American students and families ought to be able to refinance their debts”, Clinton said.
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton signs a poster after taking a tour of the Knotty Tie Company in Denver, Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016. And when we were packing for the bus tour and he said, ‘Well, what am I supposed to wear, ‘ I said, ‘Well, I don’t know.
Clinton’s campaign also released a TV ad Wednesday featuring Trump shrugging off the fact that many of his name-brand products were made overseas in a past interview with David Letterman. “What kind of man does business by hurting other people?”
Clinton said the site provides information on places in the United States that are making ties, suits, furniture and barware.
The company, founded in 2013, employs 21 people, including nine African refugees through a local community-based resettlement program, The Denver Post reports. “I really would like him to explain why he paid Chinese workers to make Trump ties. instead of deciding to make those ties right here in Colorado”. “Well, he could start by actually making things in America again”.
Clinton’s pitch is aimed at cutting into Trump’s support among white working class voters drawn to his anti-trade, anti-illegal immigration message.
The Colorado stop marked the first time Clinton landed in the Centennial State since becoming the first woman to earn a major party’s nomination for president last week at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
“There is no doubt in my mind that Donald Trump is unqualified to be president and unfit to be commander in chief”, she said.
A week that might otherwise be hard for Clinton is turning into one of the best of her campaign, as her Republican rival’s troubles eclipse her own, enabling her to hit the stump unfettered, staying on message and on task in events in one hotly contested state after another, with the national polls moving in her favor.
