Clinton hits Trump for string of casino bankruptcies

Hillary Clinton says Donald Trump’s economic policies are a “recipe” for lower wages, fewer jobs and more debt – warning union members that he could “bankrupt America like he’s bankrupted his companies”. “These polls show that we are not convinced that he would help Trump as VP nor that he would necessarily win the primary for governor against other potential GOP nominees”. Climbing first to within the margin of error in many national polls, Trump has now surpassed Clinton, and today for the first time took the lead (by 0.2 percentage points) in the Real Clear Politics polling average. Providing evidence that there has been growing support for Mr Trump since he became the presumptive Republican nominee earlier this month.

Clinton leads Trump among black voters, 71 percent to 3 percent, while Trump leads her with white voters, 50 percent to 28 percent. Since Mr Trump won the IN primary, forcing the remaining two Republicans Ted Cruz and John Kasich out of the race, Mr Trump has seen his numbers rise as the party establishment slowly, if painfully, begins to accept him as its candidate.

US Senator Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat who is a favorite of financial reformers, bashed Trump in prepared remarks released ahead of a speech in Washington on Tuesday. Indeed, if anything, he appears to have sharpened his attacks on his rival.

Clinton, pointing to the nearing end of the Democratic primary, applauded Vermont Sen. “We are hoping that Democratic National Committee will ask her to keep her word and allow that debate to go forward”, Sanders said on CBS’ Face the Nation.

“I think it makes sense to legalize marijuana at this particular point”, Sanders, who has indicated his support in the past, told supporters under sun-drenched skies. The Bernie-or-Bust movement is real and seems pretty determined, and a recent YouGov poll found that among Sanders supporters, Clinton is viewed unfavorably by 61 percent – that’s higher than her unfavorable rating with the general public, including Republicans. And finally, I would say that, you know, polls this far out mean nothing.
