Clinton, Kaine decry Trump at 1st joint rally
“I think the media’s putting out this propaganda (about Sanders supporters backing Clinton), and the DNC (too)”, she said.

Kushner sees Hillary Clinton as a fighter who’s best qualified for the job. Kaine told the crowd that the American tradition is not to punish or prefer people based on religion and said, “If it’s Muslims, it could be Mormons next week”. Tim Kaine was waiting. An easy applause line for a convention speaker was to suggest that Clinton should be in prison – not running for the president.
Clinton’s decision caps a highly secretive, months-long process to find a political partner.
In selecting Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia over progressive favorites such as Senators Elizabeth Warren of MA or Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Clinton is partnering with a lawmaker whose stances on finance and trade policies have sparked backlash from some of her most persistent critics.
“I don’t call him anything”. Active in the Senate on foreign relations and military affairs, he built a reputation for working across the aisle as Virginia’s governor and as mayor of Richmond.
Meanwhile, his fluent Spanish skill is also regarded a big help for Clinton to woo some 55 million Hispanics, a body making up approximately 17 percent of the US population.
Rep. Luis Gutierrez D-Ill., has a prime time speaking slot on Monday, a shout out to the campaigning he has done for Clinton that has taken him to Nevada, Florida, Colorado, New York and home state IL to pitch the Hispanic vote for the former Secretary of State. He also had a particularly powerful backer in Obama, whom Kaine endorsed in 2007.
After some said Trump’s speech harped on the doom and gloomy state of the nation, Senator Figures looks forward to an uplifting week in Pennsylvania.
Stephanie Taylor, co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, said Friday that Kaine’s support of fast track for the Trans-Pacific Partnership has given Republicans “a new opening to attack Democrats on this economic populist issue”.
Kaine, a former governor, has “devoted his life to fighting for others”, Clinton’s announcement said.
Marilyn Mordes, 61, a Clinton supporter and delegate from Stuart, chalks up the close race to the different styles of the candidates and their campaigns. The Democratic candidate made no mention of her impending pick during a somber meeting with community leaders and family members affected by the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando and a later campaign rally in Tampa.
Wasserman Schultz’s abrupt departure was undoubtedly an effort to keep the Democrats’ gathering from devolving into the tumult that marred last week’s GOP meeting, when runner-up Ted Cruz pointedly and publicly refused to endorse nominee Donald Trump.
Trump boasted of his TV ratings, his primary victories and other achievements, including winning over his wife, Melania, in a stream-of-consciousness delivery with Pence, standing quietly nearby.
“I don’t do anything unless I win”, Trump insisted. He promised to work “so hard” as the nominee and vowed his campaign was “not going to disappear”, even though he has no plans to campaign this weekend.
The Florida events come ahead of the Democratic National Convention, which kicks off Monday in Philadelphia. Kaine is expected to speak Wednesday, with Clinton delivering the closing address the following night. Then, he quickly used his Spanish, a language he picked up after going on a missionary trip to Honduras during his college years. He’s married to Ann Holton, the Virginia Secretary of Education and daughter of Linwood Holton, the first elected Republican governor in Virginia history.
Also present for the rally was the couple’s oldest son, Nat, an officer in the Marine Corps who deploys overseas next week. “And folks, we don’t have to because Hillary Clinton is the direct opposite of Donald Trump”, Kaine said with Clinton standing by his side.
After flirting with potential picks like Massachusetts Sen.
“I personally know I have work to do on this front”.
“Senator Tim Kaine is everything Donald Trump and Mike Pence are not”, she said.
