Clinton leads Sanders by 29 points in SC Democratic poll

For about an hour each, both candidates focused on a wide variety of issues, with much of the time discussing the economy and the Latino community in an effort to sway registered Democrats before the Nevada caucus Saturday.

Clinton is up 48 percent to the Vermont senator’s 42 percent – a tighter race than the 53 percent to 36 percent that the previous Poll of Polls found just before the Iowa caucuses.

And callers have to “stay on the entirety of the call to register their presidential preference”, according to the Nevada Democratic Party, the Daily Beast reports.

Superdelegates were created in 1982 to “improve the party’s mainstream appeal” by giving party insiders more influence and reduce that of “activists”, as Brookings Institution’s Thomas Mann and AEI’s Norman Ornstein wrote in 2008, when Clinton and Obama were also battling it out for superdelegates. On Saturday, Jan. 30, we had 1,000 New Hampshire Democrats got together to create the delegate slate.

Sanders defended his 2007 vote against an immigration reform bill, citing a guest worker provision he likened to “slavery”.

They typically mirror the popular vote in their state but they are not obligated to.

The Clinton campaign’s conversation with DREAMers and Latino voters has been underway since staffers first arrived in the Silver State back in April and launched a listening tour.

Sanders similarly pledged to make immigration reform “a top priority”, and on Thursday repeated his pledge that he would pursue it in the first 100 days of his presidency. “One thing that is clear from our poll – and others – is that Clinton has been losing support and Sanders has been gaining”.

Because their votes are not awarded democratically, many Sanders supporters have lashed out against superdelegates, who they say are endorsing the party’s favorite instead of the will of the people.

“It is hardly an insurmountable lead, and it can change overnight”, Devine said.

“We need to keep those young people working, going to school, being productive members of our society”, Clinton said.

“I want someone who’s going to fight for me, not cut deals, not compromise on core values”, Jackson said.

The spot offers a glimpse of an empathetic and emotional side of Clinton that she has sometimes struggled to put across on the campaign trail.

Reaching out to Hispanic voters, Clinton released an emotive political ad showing her comforting a 10-year-old girl who confesses her fears that her parents could be deported.

“You don’t have to worry about what happens to your mom and dad, or somebody else in your family”, she said. The primary will take place on March 15. Bernie Sanders’ early good showing against her, an Associated Press survey shows. Call her at 435-674-6231.
