Clinton leads Trump by 5 points in White House race

Clinton, who filed jointly with her husband, paid an effective federal income tax rate of 34.2% a year ago, and the Clintons donated 9.8% of their adjusted gross income to charity, according to the campaign.

The tax returns of Hillary and Bill Clinton showed they are in the country’s top 1% with a 2015 adjusted gross income of $10.6 million.

Clinton released her 2015 federal income tax return on Friday in a move to pressure Trump to release his returns.

Mrs. Clinton hoped the release would embarrass GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, who has refused to release any of his, while also shining a light on the high rate she and her husband paid in their own taxes.

The Trump campaign dismissed Clinton’s action, saying in a statement: “This document release is nothing more than an attempt at distraction and misdirection” from controversy about her use of a private email server when she was secretary of state.

So in April 1976, at the start of his own reelection campaign, Mr. Ford publicly released his 1975 return. Just 29 percent of New Hampshire women polled say they support Trump, while 51 percent support Clinton.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is ready to turn up the heat on her Republican counterpart.

Donald Trump, despite facing a great deal of criticism over the issue, still hasn’t released his tax returns, something the Clinton campaign continues to try and draw negative attention to.

The IRS has said Mr Trump is free to release his returns.

Here’s what she is referring to: Under his tax reform proposal Trump would slash the income tax rate on all business income to 15%. Their average federal tax rate for the past 10 years was 18 percent.

They paid about $10 million in taxes with a tax rate of 36 percent.

In 2012, Mitt Romney released two years’ worth of tax returns.

“Here’s a pretty incredible fact: There is a non-zero chance that Donald Trump isn’t paying *any* taxes”, she tweeted. I’ll bring my tax return.

All told, the couple earned $151.5 million over the last nine years, and some $238 million since they left the White House in 2001.

The couple donated 9.8 percent of their adjusted gross income to charity, according to a campaign news release on Friday.

Senator Kaine, the Virginia legislator who has spent much of his life in public service, reported a far lower income than the Clintons.

What’s more, the Clintons lowered their tax liability by giving to charity. “I oppose it now, I’ll oppose it after the election, and I’ll oppose it as President”.

The Clintons main sources of income were Mr Clinton s paid speeches, to the tune of $5.2 million, and a payment to Hillary Clinton from the publisher of her last book, Simon & Schuster, for three million dollars.
