Clinton Maintains 6-Point Buffer Against Trump
Donald Trump gives a thumbs up the crowd during a campaign rally on August 31, 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona.

If third party candidates are included, Gary Johnson polls at 10 percent in SC and Jill Stein has the support of 3 percent.
But Trump’s advantage over Clinton in the poll actually widened slightly when Johnson was included, from 5 points to 7 points.
Even amid her tough talk regarding Putin, Clinton stopped short of saying the Russians wanted to help elect Trump.
Specifically, the ad shows military veterans watching some of the NY billionaire’s more provocative statements, including his claim to know more about the Islamic State group than military generals, his criticism of Arizona Sen.
Clinton held a rare news conference aboard her new campaign plane on Monday as both candidates competed for votes in swing state Ohio.
The former secretary of state flatly said “No”, when asked in an ABC News interview whether she’d be willing to accept the Mexican president’s invitation to visit the country, as Trump did last week. Among men, no such marriage gap emerges, as both unmarried and married men favor Trump.
Clinton has 48 percent support while Trump maintains 42 percent – the same margin as last week. Most college grads back Clinton while those without degrees mostly support Trump, and that divide deepens among white voters.
Another poll released Tuesday shows Clinton ahead of Trump by 4 points in a four-way race with Johnson and Stein.
Trump for the first time allowed the small group of reporters to climb aboard his privately owned jet-a luxury aircraft with two bedrooms and a boardroom that seats only about 40. He also leads Clinton on trustworthiness 50 percent to 35 percent.
Enthusiasm for the overall 2016 campaign remains comparatively low. Although this question hasn’t been asked in every presidential election year, in CNN/ORC and CNN/USA Today/Gallup results dating back to 2000, this poll marks the first time that a significantly larger share of voters say they are less enthusiastic about this year’s election. Clinton, the Democratic nominee, hammered on her rival’s lack of national-security experience and his temperament. Nearly half of voters say they are less enthusiastic about voting this year than in previous elections, with just 42 percent reporting that they’re more excited. So once CNN moved to likely voters, there’s a natural shift toward Trump.
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump voters have more differences than just who they will vote for.
Clinton has consistently topped Trump since general-election polling began. While the Trump campaign is trying to throw Clinton off-balance with attacks on her health condition, the Clinton side is confident that she has the command to destroy him in the first of three Presidential debates on September 26 – if she does not have a coughing fit. Polls show Trump trailing Clinton in a series of must-win battleground states, meaning the debates could be his best chance at reorienting the race. On immigration, Clinton holds a narrower edge with 49 percent support to Trump’s 47 percent. Kerry believes the al-Qaida leader cost him the presidency by issuing a videotape that criticized Bush and warned USA voters that “your security is in your own hands” in the election.
On Tuesday, Clinton flies to Tampa, Florida to attend a voter registration rally in a state that like OH is considered one of the key swing states of the election. People (and candidates) cherry-pick particular surveys not because they have evaluated the methodologies of firms and have decided that one poll is better; they cherry-pick polls to make an emotional or rhetorical point.

The poll surveyed 1,001 adults – including 886 registered voters and 786 likely voters – by telephone from September 1 to September 4. And, third, the new poll moves from registered voters to likely voters.
