Clinton meets voluntarily with Federal Bureau of Investigation as part of private e-mail server probe

Donald Trump sounded off on Twitter Saturday about Hillary Clinton’s three-and-a-half-hour meeting with FBI investigators in their probe of their private email use, saying, “what she did was wrong”.

Ms. Lynch said the case is being handled by career agents and investigators with the Justice Department and that recommendations will be reviewed by supervisors and, ultimately, FBI Director James Comey.

The FBI interrogation came amid revelations that US Attorney General Loretta Lynch held an impromptu meeting with Mrs Clinton’s husband, former president Bill Mrs Clinton, at the airport in Phoenix, Arizona, last week.

Lynch said the conversation did not touch on the investigation, media reports say.

“If it was shown that she met with Bill Clinton and that the Federal Bureau of Investigation said, charge Hillary Clinton and then she decided not to I think tat would just be too rich for the American voting public”.

Her use of private email for official correspondence first came to light in 2015 during Republican-led congressional investigations into her handling of a militant attack on the United States mission in Benghazi, Libya.

Hillary Clinton has said relying on a private server was a mistake but that other secretaries of state had also used personal email addresses. “What she did was wrong!”. By the time Clinton took over as secretary of State in 2009, the standards for email security were “considerably more detailed and more sophisticated” than for previous secretaries of State.

Clinton told MSNBC that Lynch and her husband’s exchange was a “short, chance meeting” in which the Justice Department review was not discussed.

“I have been answering questions about this issue for over a year”, she went on to say, further adding that she is ready to speak on this at any forum.

Donald Trump, the Republican Party’s presumptive nominee, has repeatedly said the email issue undermines Clinton’s fitness for office and suggested she will receive leniency from a Democratic administration.

The FBI is investigating the potential mishandling of sensitive information. “In over 2,000 emails, Clinton’s decision exposed classified information, including 22 that included top secret intelligence, just so she could skirt transparency laws in order to hide her shady dealings as Secretary of State”.

The FBI has already spoken to her longtime aide, Huma Abedin, who was familiar with her email procedures.
