CNNFilling in some of the blanks in her criminal justice agenda, Hillary Clinton says she supports three major elements of the Smarter Sentencing Act: cutting the mandatory minimums for drug offenses in half, retroactively applying the lighter crack penalties that Congress approved in 2010, and expanding the “safety valve” that lets certain drug offenders escape mandatory minimums. The CNN/ORC Nevada Poll was conducted by telephone February 10-15 among a random sample of 1,006 adult residents of the state.

Clinton would also impose a cap on out-of-pocket drug costs and invest more federal resources into the quicker approval of generic drugs.
In addition, Clinton says she will institute a tax credit of up to $2,500 for an individual – $5,000 for a family – to help pay for health costs that exceed five percent of household income.
If we know anything about Bernie Sanders’ campaigning prowess it’s that he can make up ground quickly. And they know this. “They have been with her since day one”. With more cash, she may be able to rouse some support from the many (many) demographic groups who now don’t care for her… and those Democrat voters who aren’t overly-enthusiastic about Bernie, either. They spoke of knowing him, meeting him and working on his campaign. The latest Nevada poll found Clinton leading Sanders 56%-43% among non-white voters.

Majorities of both blacks (75%) and whites (58%) see Clinton as better able to win in November. He also says his plan would give the government greater leverage to negotiate fair drug prices for consumers.

In a national poll released by Quinnipiac University on Wednesday, Sanders and Clinton are likewise close among Democrats. Voters for both Trump and Cruz, however, seem more certain of their choice.
