Speaking on MSNBC Wednesday morning, Biden said his party had indeed failed to talk enough about the concerns of white, working-class voters.

But aside from trying to convince those hold-outs from the Sanders camp, the Democrats have a lot of work ahead of them to “humanize Hillary Clinton” on a much wider scale.
“We had lunch and she had a great time, so we made a decision to come back”, Torpey said.
“If you’re serious about our democracy, you can’t afford to stay home just because she might not align with you on every issue”, Obama said.
“With respect to my own husband, I am probably still going to pick the flowers and the china for state dinners and stuff like that, but I will certainly turn to him, as prior presidents have, for special missions for advice”, Hillary Clinton said in the ABC News Democratic debate in December.
Ben Silva from Newton, Sussex County, at 19, is a first-time voter and delegate, and was for Sanders because he said Sanders was the candidate who most shared his issues.
“Address the WikiLeaks and cheating by the DNC”, Bruce Fealk of Rochester Hills shouted Wednesday morning after former Gov. Jim Blanchard spoke to MI delegates, referencing leaked emails that appeared to show some national party officials working to undermine the Sanders campaign. The former secretary of State appeared via video from NY to thank delegates for their support and urge them to fight for her and their party in the grueling, three-month election season that lies ahead. It also seemed unfair that states like MI cast a majority of their votes for Clinton, when Sanders actually won the primary here. She noted delegates are not allowed to bring signs into the convention center but are instead provided signs inside the Wells Fargo Arena.
“Look, we Democrats have always had plenty of differences with the Republican Party, and there’s nothing wrong with that; it’s precisely this contest of ideas that pushes our country forward”, he said.
Clinton formally secured the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination at the party’s convention in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
Clinton’s campaign hopes Sanders’ supporters refrain from protesting her running mate Kaine when he takes the stage Wednesday night. Hillary Clinton, Obama said, has all the tools. “I married my best friend”, Mr. Clinton said. “They don’t understand that in politics you don’t get everything you want, at least not the first time”.
Bill Clinton spent the speech explaining his wife’s strengths.
AMY GOODMAN: That was Larry Sanders, Bernie Sanders’s brother.
“When they nominate Hillary Clinton, they actually nominate Donald Trump”, said Majid Al-Bahadli, a Washington Sanders delegate.
“It’s hard to be “Bernie or bust” if Bernie is not ‘Bernie or bust, ‘” Ellison said.
Sanders had urged supporters Monday to fall in line behind Clinton for the good of the country. The area was closed off for more than an hour as police blocked the exterior. “This is a more fundamental choice – about who we are as a people”.
Some Sanders supporters yelled at the protesters, saying their actions weren’t what the Vermont senator stood for.
Sanders also thanked the entire Washington delegation for what he said was the “extraordinary support that we received from your handsome state”.

It was Obama who pulled off the biggest political upset in a generation back in 2008 when he unseated Clinton’s primary bid in a fiercely fought campaign that ended with Obama in the White House and Clinton as his Secretary of State.
