Clinton offers more hawkish approach on Islamic State than Obama
Distancing herself from his policy could be hard.

Hillary Rodham Clinton says the US must lead the fight between “fear and resolve” after the deadly terror attacks in Paris.
Since the attacks, Clinton has advocated for accepting refugees fleeing Syria but stressed that she, as president, would not commit ground troops to the fight.
Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina criticized President Obama for his comments about Republican opponents of his Syrian refugee program, stating, “I guess he and Hillary Clinton agree, the enemies are Republicans” on Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom”. AP correspondent Julie Walker reports. Only the United States can mobilize common action and that’s exactly what we need. Allowing tens of thousands of Syrian Muslims into the country was “nothing short of lunacy”, the Texas senator said, citing concerns that terrorists may be among the refugees.
But one of her biggest long-term challenges will be convincing a fickle electorate that her presidency would represent something different than the past eight years – while still warmly embracing Obama’s legacy to keep enthusiasm high among the president’s core supporters who propelled him twice to White House victories. The day after Obama made that statement, ISIS-affiliated attackers launched a series of terrorist attacks in Paris.
Hillary Clinton is pulling out all the stops in order to “intensify and broaden” U.S. efforts to defeat the Islamic State and fight the spread of global jihadism.
Consequently, Yoder argued, allowing Syrian refugees into the USA posed a threat to American safety.
She continued, “He doesn’t get fired up about ISIS”.
“Turning away orphans, applying a religious test, discriminating against Muslims, slamming the door on every Syrian refugee, that is just not who we are”. “From income inequality to comprehensive immigration reform, Clinton is addressing issues that matter to our members and all Americans”.
Clinton’s chief rival, Vermont Sen.
Clinton’s main challenger for the Democratic nomination, is also steadfast in his opposition to American involvement in “perpetual warfare” in the region, and Clinton’s speech Thursday will put both her similarities and differences with Sanders on display. “It is always politics”, she said.
Her remarks come just hours after ISIS released a video announcing new threats against NY City. “One: defeat ISIS in Syria, Iraq and across the Middle East. Two: Disrupt and dismantle the growing terrorist infrastructure that facilitates the flow of fighters, financing, arms and propaganda around the world”.

Clinton has also called for the United States to continue to take in refugees from Syria, something a host of Republican governors and presidential candidates have said they would not do.
