NEWS BRIEF By the Clinton campaign’s guess, the notion of a Donald Trump pivot is absolutely, unequivocally dead.

Bannon is close to Nigel Farage, the former head of the right-wing UK Independence Party, who offered “massive thanks” to Breitbart News for supporting the party’s successful campaign for Britain’s departure from the European Union.
Bannon has no experience with political campaigns, but he represents the type of bare-knuckled fighter that the candidate had in Corey Lewandowski, his combative former campaign manager, who was sacked June 20.
Trump’s decision to hire Bannon followed months of conversations between the pair.
Mr Manafort has had a troubled week, following a report in the New York Times that ledgers in Ukraine showed he was earmarked for $12.7m in undisclosed cash payments from the former pro-Russian government between 2007 and 2012.He denied receiving any “off-the-books cash payment”.
It offers Trump’s team a chance to return to the “let Trump be Trump” style practiced by former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski in winning the Republican presidential nomination for the November 8 election. But, they say, if Trump loses by a narrower margin, between 4-6 points, their candidates would be in a stronger position. “It’s essentially, ‘dance with the one who brung ya'”.
Trump’s campaign announced earlier that it would begin airing its first ads of the general election next week in the battleground states of Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
The freakish survey underscores how clueless the mogul’s campaign truly appears to be with only three months to go before Election Day.
It fell to Palin in her endorsement of Trump to tell the party establishment off: “We are mad, and we’ve been had”. “Donald Trump doing poorly doesn’t help any Republicans”.
Donald Trump is expressing distrust of US intelligence as he prepares to get his first intelligence briefing Wednesday.
The leadership changes come as opinion polls show Trump, a wealthy NY businessman, falling behind Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the race for president.
Trump has been badly damaged since denigrating the parents of a Muslim American soldier killed in Iraq, members of the so-called Gold Star families who have lost a loved one in military service.
That description was quoted approvingly in a Trump press release about Wednesday’s campaign shakeup.
The shift to new leadership may not be a good sign at this stage of a campaign, but some Republican strategists stressed that it was not too late for Trump. His policies didn’t change but he gave a few speeches using a teleprompter.
“It will be kind of hard to just try and not say anything”, he said of Republican candidates.
“They had to make some changes because there was nowhere else for them to go”, Stutts said.
Trump vented his frustration during a weekend fundraiser in the Hamptons.
Much like Trump himself, Bannon’s career has taken him from Wall Street to Hollywood to politics.
Bannon, a frequent adviser to Trump, is known for his brass-knuckled demeanor and his website’s sharp tone.
He also denounced Breitbart’s unvarnished reporting against Planned Parenthood. She suggested that they sought to protect Lewandowski and Trump.
Conway and Bannon may prove to be opposing forces in Trump’s campaign.
But Representative Mark Meadows of North Carolina called Trump’s move a good prescription for anxious congressional Republicans.
Bannon’s website has been a cheerleader for Trump’s campaign for months and also critical of Republican leaders, including House Speaker Paul Ryan.
But the main issue is not Trump’s campaign, but the effect that it will cause for Republicans and their efforts of preserving majorities in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Other staff is also expected to be brought on in the coming days.
