Trump gained 1 point since last month, but Clinton’s considerable jump, while standard after conventions, may indicate that undecided voters are making up their minds to support her. Clinton said, “Donald Trump is not qualified to be president, and he’s temperamentally unfit to be commander in chief”.

Now, the CNN poll shows Clinton is also ahead of Trump in terms of policies that could move the country in the right direction, rising from 43 percent of respondents before either convention to 48 percent today. In surveys that were conducted after the Republican national convention ended (ie after 21 July), GOP candidate Donald Trump repeatedly seemed to do better than in polls that were held before the convention.

The poll also shows that thirty-one percent have a positive opinion of Trump, which is nearly the same as before the Republican convention and 52 percent think of him negatively.

Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump in a surprising new poll of Georgia, edging the Republican nominee 44% to 40% among registered voters in the deep red state.

The Clinton campaign said it began August with $58 million in the bank.

Clinton stuck largely to her own script and ignored the controversies swirling around Trump, such as his quarrel with the family of a US soldier killed in Iraq and his unwillingness to endorse top officials in his own party facing re-election.

“Trump’s reckless and uninformed positions on critical issues — from immigration to our economy to foreign policy – have made it abundantly clear that he lacks both the policy depth and sound judgment required as President”, Whitman said. Since January, the polling average for both candidates has fluctuated – Clinton has hit a low of 43% and a polling high of 50% while the margins for Trump have been between 38% and 46%.

Meanwhile, according to Real Clear Politics – which tracks polls nationwide, MS is considered as “leaning” toward Trump and not a solid Trump state like Alabama is listed by the website. The poll had a credibility interval of plus or minus 3 percentage points, meaning that the results suggest the race is roughly even.

Voters who have a lot of friends who back their preferred candidate are also far more likely than others to be outspoken about who they are supporting.
