Clinton over Trump by 10 points

Donald Trump is lagging Hillary Clinton by large margins in swing states and nationwide, according to a slate of new polls, suggesting that the Democratic National Convention and a basket of recent controversies and missteps have hurt the Republican nominee.

Party chairman Reince Priebus appealed to the NY billionaire’s adult children to help amid new signs of a campaign in trouble. Clinton delegates often drowned out their chants, and some even refused to let them enter public bathrooms, she said.

If there were ever an exit ramp for Republicans to abandon Trump, it may just be now, as he attacks the grieving parents of a fallen US soldier.

Ryan repeated Thursday that his endorsement of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump was “not a blank check” and delivered a sharp critique of Trump’s flailing campaign two days after Trump declined to endorse Ryan for reelection to his Wisconsin congressional seat.

An official with direct knowledge of Priebus’ thinking was granted anonymity to discuss internal strategy after one of the most tumultuous weeks of Trump’s presidential campaign.

Trump on Wednesday dismissed suggestions that the GOP frustration was hurting his campaign.

Thirty-one percent of Trump supporters and 47 percent of Clinton supporters say they don’t have a single friend who supports the other candidate.

“I’m just not there yet”, she said, indicating that she’s deciding between Clinton and the Libertarian ticket, though she disagrees with the party’s positions on the role of government. Much can change in the next three months, but you’ll find few Democrats today who still gleefully predict that this election will be a Barry Goldwater-esque debacle for the Republicans.

“The campaign is doing really well”, Mr Trump insisted as he started the rally in Daytona Beach, a city on the Atlantic side of Florida that is part of a key electoral corridor stretching west to Orlando and eventually to Tampa on the Gulf of Mexico.

Clinton, meanwhile, raised $63 million for her campaign in July, plus $26 million for the Democratic National Committee through the joint operations.

“Donald Trump should be winning in Arizona”, pollster Mike Noble said.

Clinton leads Trump 49 per cent to 39 per cent in a head-to-head Fox News survey released on Wednesday.

Donald Trump is indeed reforming his ways and softening his tone.

When you have two candidates who are as disliked as these two, the path to victory isn’t to make yourself more likable – it’s to make the other person even less well liked. Trump remains the undisputed master of exploiting a fragmented media landscape, and his contempt for the conventions of American electoral politics has proved an asset for a public convinced – with no small justification – that Washington is broken.

Both polls were conducted last Friday through Monday. Manafort spoke on ABC’s “Good Morning America”. “He strongly encouraged me to endorse Paul Ryan in next Tuesday’s primary and I’m pleased to do it”. “And I’m pleased to do it”.

Forty years later, Democrat Al Gore endured his 2000 loss to Republican George W. Bush after a Supreme Court decision, despite having won the popular vote.

The target list has expanded, with Clinton’s team and Republicans who’ve aligned with the former secretary of state seeking out former Republican officeholders, spouses, advisers, and political consultants.

It’s a twist for a Democratic presidential candidate who has some of the highest unpopularity ratings in history. He also bests Clinton on handling the federal deficit (+5 points).

Still, the campaign struggled to make a significant dent in tapping bigger donors, raising just $16 million through 20 fundraising events in July, just 20% of the campaign’s July fundraising total.
