Clinton proposes tax break for people caring for relatives
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton wants to implement a new tax break for those caring for elderly or disabled family members.

Clinton is expected to discuss the plan at a town hall-style meeting in Iowa on Sunday evening.
Clinton has spoken out forcefully for the concept of paid family leave but not embraced the particular measure because it violates a campaign pledge not to raise taxes on families making less than $250,000.
Clinton added that the number of Americans needing long-term care is going to increase from a manageable figure of 12 million today to 27 million within the next three decades, reported Yahoo News.
Pledging to invest in the “caring economy”, Hillary Rodham Clinton proposed a new tax break Sunday for people caring for aging parents and grandparents.
Thats a lot, said Sanders, who then repeateda challenge he has extended to Clinton to join those supporting the legislation, which he said would cost the typical worker $1.39 a week.
In the two months since their encounter, Clinton has mentioned Thompson in almost every major speech – and she speaks frequently about the “caregiver crisis” facing those who look after loved ones full-time without enough financial support. She also proposed expanding Social Security to reward those who take time out of their careers to act as caregivers for relatives.
“It will help families’ budgets stretch; it will help seniors maintain independence.”
“The lost wages and the work that is sometimes given up are costing families, especially women who make up the majority of both paid and unpaid caregivers”.
The caregiving credit will be the latest in a “range of tax cuts aimed a boosting the take-home pay for middle-class families” that Clinton will announce over the coming weeks, according to a campaign aide.
In Memphis on Friday, she touted a tax credit of up to $5,000 for families and $2,500 for individuals she proposed earlier this year. Bernie Sanders, Clinton must convince Colorado Democrats to support her at March 1 grass-roots caucus gatherings. He also says he sees an improvement from last election cycle concerning the enthusiasm surrounding her campaign.
Clinton’s campaign, which has yet to outline a full tax plan, did not say how she intends to pay for the caregiving proposal.
For Laurie, Sunday’s town hall was as enjoyable as the first she had attended, and she was happy to see Clinton touch on topics as they relate to 2015.

“I think most of the expense that they put in there, the expenditures have to do with the single-payer health care system”, Mr. Sanders told MSNBC after the report.
