The Democratic presidential nominee on Thursday announced an astonishing August fundraising haul of $143 million, her best of the campaign so far.

Both candidates have high unfavorable ratings in the Virginia poll with Trump at 55% and Clinton at 54%. In the longer term, the effort harkens to former DNC Chair Howard Dean’s 50-state strategy. Those donating $200 or less made up almost 40 percent of her campaign’s $62 million haul in July.

Of the total amount raised last month, United States dollars 62 million was received for Clinton’s White House run.

“Thanks to the 2.3 million people who have contributed to our campaign, we are heading into the final two months of the race with the resources we need to organize and mobilize millions of voters across the country”, Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook said in a statement obtained by TheWrap.

CNN estimated Clinton headlined 37 fundraisers in August, taking her to 12 states, according to estimates based on average ticket prices and attendance figures provided by the Clinton campaign.

In 2014, the Supreme Court eliminated aggregate campaign contribution limits in its McCutcheon v. The official reports on July fundraising aren’t due to be filed with the Federal Election Commission until late September. For instance, one of the joint fundraising groups Clinton established with the national Democratic Party also raised money to help underwrite the party’s national convention.

An analysis by Bloomberg found that the Hillary Victory Fund allowed hundreds of donors who had maxed out their donations to the Democratic National Committee to give more money through the joint fundraising agreement.

Additionally, Congress slipped an expansion of party contribution limits into the 2014 omnibus budget bill that passed in the post-election lame duck session.

That’s an increase from the more than $89 million she and the joint committees raised in July, the month she accepted the Democratic presidential nomination.
