Clinton returns to campaign after doctor-ordered rest

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton released updated medical information from her personal doctor Wednesday as she looked to put to rest questions over her health. The letter detailed her pneumonia diagnosis and declared her fit for the presidency.

“Despite awful marks on honesty, despite what voters perceive as a level of arrogance that puts her above the rules, voters say nearly 2-1 that Hillary Clinton is qualified to be president, and say by a wide margin that Donald Trump is not qualified”, said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University poll, in a statement. But a release from the show said “Dr. Oz took Mr. Trump though a full review of his systems”, including his nervous system, cardiovascular health, prostate health and family medical history.

Clinton plans to return to the campaign trail on Thursday after several days resting at her suburban NY home. Her letter made no mention of her weight, a key part of a medical exam, nor did a similar letter released a year ago. On Thursday, he is due to deliver a major economic speech.

A month ago, the same poll had Trump leading Clinton in Kansas by 5 points, but 60 percent of those who said they supported the billionaire real estate developer and reality television star said they were voting for him as a vote “against Clinton”. Both candidates would be the oldest first-term president to be inaugurated if they win.

Both candidates, among the oldest ever to run for the White House, were under intense pressure to share more medical information after Clinton fell ill.

The former US secretary of state fainted at a 9/11 memorial ceremony on Sunday and has since stayed home.

Trump backers on Capitol Hill said they were heartened by the tightening race after a call on Thursday morning with Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, who mapped out what the campaign was doing.

Since bacterial pneumonia is not contagious, Clinton was at no risk of transmitting the infection at campaign and fundraising events before or after she was diagnosed.

Almost half of American adults are “very concerned” about two issues that have hounded Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign this year: her use of a private email server to conduct government business and donations to her family’s charitable foundation, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Wednesday.

A lot of people still have questions about Hillary Clinton’s health after her bout of pneumonia.

Bardack said Clinton’s cholesterol and blood pressure are within normal ranges.

The medications Mrs. Clinton takes include the blood thinner Coumadin and the antihistamine Clarinex, the doctor said.

“She is recovering well with antibiotics and rest”, Bardack wrote.

Bardack said she has seen Clinton regularly for routine care, including recurrent blood testing and treatment of allergy flares.

Clinton, meanwhile, slammed the brash billionaire, who has repeatedly praised Russian President Vladimir Putin, for his “alarming closeness with the Kremlin”. The drug is widely prescribed, but the Food and Drug Administration in May made a decision to require heightened warnings about serious side effects from an oft-used class of antibiotics that includes Levaquin and its generic version levofloxacin.

Clinton had previously released a letter from Bardack, which contained information about her current health, medications and past health conditions, including a history of hyperthyroidism and deep-vein thrombosis.

Otherwise all is okay, according to Trump and Oz. On Wednesday, he handed over a one-page summary of that exam, conducted by his longtime physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, to Dr. Mehmet Oz while taping an episode of Oz’s show. “Should I do it?” “I did some thinking”, she said.

The Trump campaign didn’t release the report he gave to Dr. Oz.

Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, is making his first visit to the poverty-stricken city since lead was detected in its water supply in April 2014. Democrat Franklin Roosevelt died in office in 1945.

The health of both candidates has taken center stage after Clinton’s Sunday episode.
