With less than two months from Election Day, Clinton’s standing with Americans has contributed to a race that is tighter than both parties expected.

Her health took centre stage after footage emerged of her appearing to almost collapse at a 9/11 anniversary ceremony on Sunday.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton gives a thumbs up Thursday in White Plains, New York while traveling to Greensboro, North Carolina.

The former secretary of state, USA senator from NY and first lady will deliver speeches in the coming days on the economy and national service, her campaign said.

On Wednesday, Clinton released a letter from her physician, Dr. Lisa Bardack, to dispel rumors about her health.

On Thursday, Donald Trump released a letter from his doctor saying he is in “excellent physical health”.

Clinton’s campaign responded with a new letter from her doctor Wednesday declaring her “fit to serve” as president and recovering well from her recent illness. “As the world knows, I was a little under the weather recently”, Clinton said.

If Trump, 70, wins the November 8 election, he would be the oldest person to be elected US president. She had been diagnosed with pneumonia Friday, but the campaign informed the public only after the video of an ill Clinton emerged.

Clinton, 68, has blood pressure of 100 over 70.

In a move to jump-start momentum, Clinton’s campaign announced on Thursday that U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren of MA and Bernie Sanders of Vermont will campaign for her on Saturday in the battleground state of Ohio. This exam would accomplish three things: (1) it would provide the public with information crucial to their ability to evaluate candidates’ fitness, (2) it would allow for the establishment of a presidential medical clearance process, and (3) it would end speculation about candidates’ health during campaigns, which may distract from more important political issues.

The letter from Clinton’s doctor made no mention of her weight, a key part of any medical exam, nor did a similar letter released previous year.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump gestures as he leaves an appearance on a television talk show, Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, in NY.

She also said her campaign “could have been faster” in revealing the pneumonia diagnosis. Few businesses now pay the full 35 percent rate, taking advantage instead of many deductions in the existing tax code.

African-American women have been a supportive voting bloc for Clinton for decades and the former secretary of state said that she “would not be the Democratic nominee for president of the United States were it not for black women”. The letter said Kaine has never smoked and his alcohol use is “modest”.

Although Trump is in the lead, experts say it’s by a very small margin compared to Mitt Romney, who led the Texas vote by 19 points against President Barack Obama back in 2012.
