Clinton’s Best Day Is Behind Her, Sanders Adviser Says
Super Tuesday was the most pivotal day of the United States presidential primary season so far, with half the Republican delegates and a third of Democratic delegates needed to win the nominations up for grabs.

On Wednesday, Clinton is taking her fight back to NY, where she’ll be having a rally with supports at the Jacob Javits Center on the west side.
Clinton had Trump on her mind in her victory speech, although she never mentioned him by name.
On the GOP side, Trump led the pack with seven victories, while Ted Cruz picked up three, including his home state of Texas. Cruz’s campaign, not wanting to take any chances, sent the candidate on an 11th-hour tour of the state Monday to shore up support. Ted Cruz clenched wins in 3 states, and may well be on the pathway to solidifying his position as the ‘Trump alternative.’ Meanwhile Marco Rubio, the establishment hope, managed to clench a win in Minnesota.
Suddenly, the March 15 contest in Florida, his home state, loomed over him as a must-win.
“It’s not over yet for Hillary Clinton, but she’s made it really hard for Bernie Sanders”, said Tankersley.
But Sanders has struggled to expand his base beyond young people and liberals.
Weaver called Sanders’ performance on Tuesday, when he won four states including Vermont and narrowly lost MA, “a fantastic night”. As long as they remain with equal strength roughly below Trump, he wins pluralities in which coming up now are states or with a plurality in the 30s or 40s, it’s victor take all.
Hillary Clinton campaign leaders celebrated the heavy voter turnout at a party last night at Rogue Tavern in Birmingham.
He won at least 203 delegates Tuesday. It takes an outright majority of delegates to win the nomination.
Clinton won in Texas, Massachusetts, Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Virginia. “But Ted at least has a shot because at least he’s won a little bit”, Trump said.
A Democratic candidate must gain 2,383 out of a total of 4,763 delegates available to clinch the party’s nomination.
With a string of victories on Tuesday, he would advance towards sealing the nomination against opposition from Cruz, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, Ohio Governor John Kasich and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.
The outcome, as a quarter of American voters had their say, was a setback for the Republican establishment’s attempts to stop Trump as his outsider blitz threatens to split the party and damage its goal of winning control of both the executive and legislative branches of government in November.
Republicans spent months largely letting Trump go unchallenged, wrongly assuming that his populist appeal with voters would fizzle. Those are big ifs, since Trump appears strong in recent polling in both states.
