Clinton’s doctor reveals pneumonia diagnosis

The statement offered no additional details, including whether Clinton required medical attention.

Dogged by Republican claims of health issues and caught on video staggering into a auto at the 9/11 memorial, Clinton emerged from her daughter Chelsea’s NYC apartment later this morning, telling cordoned off media that she was “feeling great”. As reported at the time, and again in a 2015 medical account, Bardack said Clinton recovered after being hospitalized with a clot in a vein between her brain and her skull, followed by symptoms such as double vision.

Political strategists said the campaign should confront the health issue head-on to tamp down any concerns, particularly as Republican rival Donald Trump and some of his high-profile supporters have repeatedly argued that she lacked the “stamina” to battle adversaries overseas.

According to her campaign, Clinton had a rest in her daughter’s apartment in Manhattan. Bardack said she was diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday. She was prescribed antibiotics and advised to modify her schedule so she can rest.

A health condition initially described by Clinton’s campaign as a brief episode of overheating during the outdoor event – a situation downplayed by a stronger-looking candidate in the afternoon – was identified later as pneumonia when the campaign released a four-sentence statement from Clinton’s physician. Dr. Lisa Bardack says in a statement that Clinton is “recovering nicely” after attending a September 11 anniversary event in Lower Manhattan.

Bardack attended to Clinton at her Chappaqua home Sunday.

Footage emerged which showed Mrs Clinton being supported by officials as she got into a black vehicle while leaving the memorial.

And Senator Chuck Schumer, a Democrat from NY, said he was standing next to Clinton.

“I didn’t see anything unusual. I was sweating through my shirt”, Crowley said.

Upon exiting her daughter Chelsea’s apartment, a smiling Clinton told
assembled media she was “feeling great”, and that it was a “beautiful day in NY”.

“I’m feeling great, it’s a handsome day in New York”, Clinton said.

It was not yet clear whether Clinton would stick to a hectic schedule that has her traveling to California on Monday for several campaign and fundraising events.

But the businessman, his spokespeople and surrogates have promoted the idea in recent weeks that Hillary has serious health problems. Pneumonia seems like a fairly routine illness for a candidate to contract (especially while on the road campaigning endlessly – not to mention hugging plenty of strangers), and Clinton suffers from hypothyroidism and allergies.

Bardack said Clinton had an examination at her home in Chappaqua after the incident.

The root of the claims lies in 2012, when Clinton was nearing the end of her stint as secretary of state and a stomach virus and dehydration prompted her to faint, causing what her doctor said was a concussion. “Now, clearly, it hasn’t affected her cognition, but tell us a little more about that”.

Clinton’s health had already been the subject of right-wing conspiracy theories bouncing around social media, getting spikes in traffic when she has coughing fits.

The Post-ABC poll finds 58 percent of Americans expect Clinton will prevail, though only 18 percent think she will do so easily.

It’s possible Clinton may have assumed that symptoms from an earlier viral infection were due to allergies, Schaffner said. But the 70-year-old has refused to release his own health records.
