Clinton, Sanders fight for last big prize: California
The poll notes the 13-point margin is the largest Clinton has held over Trump since last July.

Trump is well known as a polarizing figure – some say he is racist, bigoted and xenophobic, while others say he speaks his mind and does not fret over being politically correct.
“He is a loose cannon, and loose cannons tend to misfire”, Mrs Clinton said in an interview with CNN, citing Mr Trump stances including an allegation that climate change was a Chinese hoax. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.), a self-declared socialist and Clinton’s primary opponent.
Democrats caution their effort to win over Clinton Republicans or Hilla-cans is in its earliest stages, but could grow to include ads and other outreach targeted in particular at suburban women in battleground states.
As Nyhan observes, this level of unfavorability across the board is unprecedented.
A number of analysts suggest that the pair’s respective campaigns hope to keep Trump and Clinton – two of the most unpopular candidates in American history – honest.
Brown, who Trump had referred to as a potential vice presidential pick in January, meanwhile, said South Dakota U.S. Sen. “We are in this campaign to win and we’re going to fight until the last vote is cast”, he said.
In a twist of irony of roller-coaster-sized proportions, the Republicans have their presumptive nominee while the Democrats are still engaging in an intense ballot battle. They can switch whenever they like, and some of them probably will switch to Sanders if he extends his winning streak into more diverse states and eventually appears to have more of a mandate than Clinton among Democratic voters.
But that point, too, may be moot: either Democrat will begin the general election with a significant poll advantage over the race-baiting businessman.
“Mitt Romney… I’ve heard from many sources that he has said, indirectly or directly to them… if it’s between Hillary and Trump, Trump wins”, Brown said during the “Morning Meeting” program.
Clinton’s favorability and unfavorability ratings among registered voters were identical at 49 percent. She said she would “most likely” go for Clinton over Trump, but stressed that she wasn’t “100 percent”. And there seems to be party consensus that this is a good thing; a poll released this week by NBC News and Survey Monkey found that 57% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters want Sanders to stay in the race until the convention. “I’m anxious that he copyrighted his campaign slogan in December of 2012, but has done nothing to really understand the issues facing the nation”.
“We’re going after Hillary Clinton”, he said.
In remarks to reporters in New Albany, Indiana, Sanders argued that he is the better candidate to compete in a general election against Donald Trump, whose win in Indiana Tuesday night set him on course to become the likely GOP nominee.
