Clinton, Sanders square off in Michigan
Clinton shot back, accusing Sanders of voting against the bailout of the auto industry, which is a major employer in MI.

The event is just hours before the polls open across MI for the primary and a day after the two were in a debate in Flint on CNN. That set off the night’s most heated exchange.
Bernie Sanders is accusing Hillary Clinton of mischaracterizing his position on the federal government’s 2008 bailout of the auto industry on the eve of Michigan’s presidential primary.
The forum quickly turned into a heated philosophical argument about an economy that Sanders said is weighted against the middle and working classes and is abetted, he said, by close ties between politicians, such as Clinton, and Wall Street financiers. Clinton has repeatedly tried to portray Sanders – who has a record of moderation on the subject – as soft on an issue that is increasingly animating Democrats in 2016, and has sought to link him to the NRA, which is unpopular with liberal voters.
“I agree”, Clinton said. “Let me tell my story; you tell yours”.
Clinton’s challenger Bernie Sanders would also hold up well against Trump. “Michigan voters deserve better than typical Washington tactics”.
An emotional Sanders said he felt “literally shattered” by the toxic tap water in Flint and renewed his call for Gov. Rick Snyder to resign. Clinton, asked whether she views Sanders as an opponent or an ally, called the Vermont senator an ally. He said, “I think there are some who are that adamant about it who would”.
Sanders chimed in: “When you watch these Republican debates, you know why we need to address the mental health”. “He voted against the money that ended up saving the auto industry”.
“Unlike with Trump, Clinton’s critics have focused on one trait in particular, her perceived untrustworthiness”, said political science professor Dan Cassino.
Mr Trump frequently says he will beat either Ms Clinton or Mr Sanders.
Donald Trump said Saturday of Mrs. Clinton, “I am the one person that she does not want to run against”. “I don’t give speeches to Wall street for hundreds of thousands of dollars”.
Where he floundered: If Mr. Sanders were talking to another man, saying “Excuse me, I’m talking” wouldn’t be given a second thought.

She also argued that the United States and allies saw more turmoil in “leaving a dictator in place” like Russian Federation has done with Syrian leader Bashar al Assad. It takes 2,383 delegates to win the nomination. Following the Fox News Republican presidential debate Thursday night, “we got word on Friday they were reconsidering”.
