Clinton, Sanders trade barbs on primary’s eve

Former U.S. president Bill Clinton unleashed his strongest attack on Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and his supporters Sunday, reportedly portraying Sanders as hypocritical, “hermetically sealed” and dishonest.

Monday in Windham, New Hampshire, when he heard that she was deciding between Clinton, Sanders, and himself, Kasich replied, “Well isn’t that interesting”.

Deriding Sanders’ health care plan, which would raise taxes in order to scrap premiums, the former president said the state he once “campaigned in really cared that you knew what you were doing, and how it was paid for”. Does that reflect in any way on the Sanders campaign or which candidate should win the Democratic primary?

New Hampshire allows Independent voters to participate in either the Democratic or Republican Primary but don’t expect this election to be anything like what happened last week in Iowa.

“I haven’t just talked, I haven’t just given speeches”, said Clinton. Millennial voters want to vote for someone who understands their problems and believes in what they are saying.

He also took aim at Sanders supporters who have supposedly attacked Hillary Clinton’s backers online.

“When you’re making a revolution, you can’t be too careful about the facts”, Clinton said at a Milford, N.H., event Sunday, a swipe at Sanders’ call for political upheaval. Almost a quarter of Democrats and two-fifths of Independents say they are still not that familiar with Sanders.

The excitement that the Sanders campaign is generating on New Hampshire campuses reflects his popularity among young voters in general.

But it’s important to remember: Even with that big advantage among younger voters, Obama still lost New Hampshire to Clinton in 08.

Both the Clinton and the Sanders’ campaigns tout their progressive credentials and believe that the ideas they promote will help the middle-class. Sanders’ strength with younger voters only heightens the threat he poses to what was once her decisive national lead. “A lot of people say you shouldn’t count it for or against her that she’s a woman, but she’s had it count against her her whole life”.

At the rally, Clinton made some remarks towards Sanders. “And when you’re young, you’re thinking, ‘Where are the boys?’ The boys are with Bernie”. But they were less sure that their peers who also support Sanders would actually go through with it.
