Clinton says controversies are all behind her now
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton accused Donald Trump on Thursday of fueling America’s “radical fringe” with racist rhetoric, even as her Republican rival sought to soften his image with an appeal to minorities.

“I think every public official ought to denounce racism, and that is what Secretary Clinton did”, Cohen said, noting that the alt-right ideology opposes the notion that all people are equal. How any publication that considers itself true to basic journalistic standards could justify that is beyond me and I worked as a reporter for The Evening Sun and the Sun for over 42 years.
The Trump campaign “also selected a prominent white nationalist leader as a delegate in California”.
In Hillary Clinton’s speech in Reno Thursday night, she called out the alt-right movement and its “racist”, “race-baiting”, “anti-Muslim”, “anti-immigrant” and “anti-woman” tenets.
“The de facto merger between Breitbart and the Trump campaign represents a landmark achievement for the Alt-Right”, Clinton said, and is “part of a broader story – the rising tide of hardline, right-wing nationalism around the world”.
“It’s the oldest play in the Democratic playbook”, Trump said.
She said Friday that candidates can reasonably disagree on how to run the country, “but that’s not the campaign that Donald Trump has been running, and I am reaching out and asking fair-minded Americans to repudiate this kind of divisive demagoguery”. While Brown seemed disappointed, both ABC and NBC took the opportunity to pounce on Trump and praise Clinton’s attacks.
On Thursday, the NY real estate mogul-turned-politician criticized Clinton before her speech, saying she and her party had let black Americans down with failed economic policies and were falsely labeling Republicans as bigoted. “He’s taking hate groups mainstream and helping a radical fringe take over the Republican Party”.
Clinton’s speech was meant to link Trump to a fringe ideology of conspiracies and hate, but for the leaders of the alt-right, the attention from the Democratic presidential nominee was a moment in the spotlight that offered a new level of credibility.
The ad shows video of Trump’s controversial pitch to black voters, in which the Republican candidate urges them to support him by asking, “What do you have to lose?” The general consensus was that Mrs. Clinton is a power-hungry “liar” and Mr. Trump is a “loudmouth” whose “reckless” behavior makes him a liability. “How can someone who has so many unaddressed questions about her own truthiness serve the highest office in this land?” said Oz Sultan, Republican Leadership Initiative.
To the nearly entirely African-American crowd at the historically black Florida A&M University, Kaine also talked about the importance of historically black colleges and how he and Clinton plan to keep funding the schools in their education plan.
