The billionaire arrived in his “Trump” emblazoned helicopter at the Turnberry resort in South Ayrshire to officially open the revamped resort he bought in 2014, just an hour after British Prime Minister David Cameron said he meant to stand down in October.

That is a remarkable suggestion from a man looking to lead the world and who is already facing criticism, even from within his own party, for tending to business interests while running for president of the United States.

After those brief remarks he then proceeded to talk about his ties to Scotland and his business, as did his children, for about 15 minutes as the networks cut away – including CNN – and vamped as they waited for him to mention the news of the day. “Once you’re in politics you’ll have 55 for you, 45 against”, Trump observed.

In a warning to other countries around Europe, Trump also stated that he could see anti-EU referendums taking place across the continent as people looked to “take back their independence.” .

Trump “actively rooted” for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union and is “rooting for the economic turmoil in its wake”, Clinton adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters. Trump! “If the pound goes down”, he said, referring to Britain’s currency, “more people are coming to Turnberry”.

“I think there are great similarities between what happened here and my campaign”, he said.

“I think what this vote is about is an indication that the global economy is not working for everybody”, he said. They want to have independence in a sense. I kind of understand that, but I think it’s something he shouldn’t have done. “Some don’t like (it) and some do like it”.

He said, in the U.S. presidential election, “Americans will have a chance to vote for trade, immigration and foreign policies that put our citizens first”. While Trump has decried illegal immigration, saying America is losing its national identity by allowing the flow of illegal immigrants over the Mexican border, Britain’s membership in the European Union has made immigration from other European Union nations expressly legal. “I hope America is watching, it will soon be time to believe in America again”. The presidential wannabe insisted that while he personally believed the United Kingdom should vote to leave, he never urged voters to adopt his opinion.

“I think had he not said it, I think your result may have been different”, Trump said, adding that Obama’s plea to voters was “totally inappropriate”.

Put another way, the pro-wall building, anti-immigrant feelings that Trump has stoked since announcing his candidacy for president last June helped fuel Britons’ vote to leave the EU.

Many analysts believe the British decision to leave the European Union will hurt the global economy, but Trump said no one knows for sure. “And I actually I think his recommendation perhaps caused it to fail”. United Kingdom media identified the man as a British comedian who has pranked celebrities and officials in the past.

Trump linked the “Brexit” vote to the current political climate in the United States. Clinton aides said Trump was “rooting for economic turmoil”.

“Our first task has to be to make sure that the economic uncertainty created by these events does not hurt working families here in America”, she said, underscoring a major theme of her campaign.

An overwhelming number of people polled said Donald Trump should remove himself from his business dealings while he is involved in politics
