Clinton says she feels ‘so much better’

Despite her being diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday, Clinton continued with her grilling schedule which finally resulted in her falling ill on Sunday. Soon a video shot by a witness surfaced online, which showed Clinton struggling to steady herself as she boarded a van.

Trump, too, is in a treacherous position on the question of medical transparency.

A recent article by Huffington Post has done the hard work of collecting the data that’s been done on Donald Trump’s supporters over the past year to show that one only has to look below the surface to confirm the statement.

Less than half of American voters believe Hillary Clinton about what caused her to apparently stumble and buckle at the knees as she tried to get into a vehicle after the 9/11 memorial service in NY. It was dramatically different from the hundreds of pages of medical records released by Republican nominee John McCain in 2008 to reassure Americans about his bouts of skin cancer.

In another unconventional twist in a campaign that’s been full of them, Trump is scheduled to appear in a pre-taped interview on Thursday with Mehmet Oz, also known as Dr Oz, to discuss his “personal health regimen”.

Speaking in Maryland Monday, Trump said he was shocked to hear Clinton “attack, slander, smear and demean these wonderful, unbelievable people who are supporting our campaign”. She will be sequestered at home for “the next two days” while she recovers from her illness, according to her spokesman Brian Fallon.

Mrs Clinton’s communications director has admitted the campaign “could have done better” managing the incident. Today (Monday) Trump said that he had a physical (examination) last week and that he’s going to release the major finding of that physical very soon.

They said it was Mrs Clinton’s decision to attend weekend fundraisers and the Sunday ceremony in lower Manhattan, despite the diagnosis of pneumonia. But four days later, a doctor put her on antibiotics for pneumonia and she didn’t find it worthy of comment.

Claims that Clinton has been suffering from Parkinson’s disease have long circulated, although they have never been taken seriously outside of conspiracy theory groups.

She also clarified that she did not lose consciousness or pass out, but “felt dizzy and I did lose my balance for a minute”.

Of course, butter wouldn’t melt in Trump’s mouth yesterday as he donned his best wounded face to say he was “deeply shocked and alarmed to hear my opponent attack, slander, smear, demean these wonderful, unbelievable people who are supporting our campaign by the millions”.

She later told supporters via text message and Facebook: “I’m feeling fine and getting better”.

“We’re praying for her swift recovery, (we) want to see her back out on the campaign trail”, he said.

Instead he focused his ire on a different Clinton stumble – comments she made at a fund-raiser Friday saying half of his supporters are “deplorables”.

Trump left it to other Republicans and the media to focus on Clinton’s health.

The Democratic presidential candidate abruptly left Sunday’s event after feeling “overheated”. But Clinton’s unpopularity rivals that of her opponent, and she’s been unable to do much to change the minds of Americans who believe she is dishonest and secretive.

“In an ideal world, both candidates would be more transparent so there wouldn’t be questions about these problems that any of us could face”, said Dr. Mark Gladwin of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

The Bush team took the lesson to heart: Later when Bush choked on a pretzel and fainted, the White House went to great lengths to inform the public quickly. It easily could have not been disclosed.
