Clinton says there’s ‘no erasing’ Trump’s birther history

Donald Trump used a short statement at the end of a freaky campaign event to attempt to separate himself from the so-called birther movement questioning President Barack Obama’s citizenship, of which he had always been the most prominent champion.

With just over seven weeks to the presidential election, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are on the campaign trail, each making appearances at separate events in Washington, D.C. where they both addressed the so-called “birther” issue. “I finished it”, Trump said. The statement also said Trump now believes the first African-American president was born in the United States. In an interview with the Washington Post, Trump refuses to say if President Obama was born in the United States in an interview.

“Mr. Trump did a great service to the President and the country by bringing closure to the issue that Hillary Clinton and her team first raised”, a Trump campaign statement read. “A lot of people feel it wasn’t a proper certificate”, Trump said after the host noted that Obama had released his birth certificate.

Trump’s reversal comes as he works to win over African-American voters – many of whom have been turned off by his attempt to delegitimize the nation’s first black president.

Obama’s speech came as the Clinton campaign deployed high-profile surrogates to key battleground states amid the Democratic presidential nominee’s sinking poll numbers.

He then said he would like to focus on issues “to make America strong again”, a variation of his campaign slogan.

After Trump announces his presidential candidacy in June, he begins appearing frequently on cable and talk shows. “I just don’t want to answer it yet”. “That is the kind of president they will be, trust me”, Michelle said.

When a reporter tweeted that Trump meant to put the issue to rest, a Clinton campaign spokesman tweeted: “Good luck with that”. And I think Barack Obama must be listed as one of the best.

“Hillary brought it up during the campaign”, Trump told Bartiromo. So my friends, there is no new Donald Trump. “I finished it”, Trump said Friday, at the end of a 20-minute event promoting his new hotel.

In 2012, the NY businessman turned presidential candidate wrote on Twitter that Obama’s birth certificate was “a fraud“. “Not only was a Clinton campaign worker blamed and fired over the activity, we have now been informed that Secretary Clinton was aware of what was going on, with Clinton’s campaign manager even apologizing to Obama’s campaign manager”. It said Trump deserves credit for putting questions about Obama’s birth to rest. As usual, however, Hillary Clinton was too weak to get an answer.

Jerome Corsi, the WorldNetDaily “reporter” who collaborated with Trump on his birther campaign and wrote two books on the subject, called in today to conservative radio host Rusty Humphries’ program but shut down when Humphries asked him about Trump’s latest comments.
