Clinton Says Victory Is Still Possible in New Hampshire
Hillary Clinton’s daughter accidentally called Bernie Sanders, her mom’s rival in the Democratic race for the White House, “President Sanders”.

The two remaining Democratic presidential contenders are now virtually tied nationally, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll. The change in the final tally comes days after Democratic Party officials had said there wouldn’t be a review of the caucus results despite the claims of discrepancies and Hillary Clinton’s tiny margin of victory over Bernie Sanders. Instead of casting a ballot, like Republicans do in their caucuses, Democrats organize into groups supporting each candidate, then reshuffle if some candidates do not earn enough support. Clinton supporters pointed to a new Suffolk University/Boston Globe poll Friday which pegged Sanders’s lead at just 9 points – a significant, but not insurmountable number – but other polls suggest Sanders has a much larger lead, as The Fix’s Philip Bump pointed out today. And they were fresh evidence of how the race for the nomination, once considered a sure bet for Clinton, has tightened in recent weeks. “I know you may not be for me now, but I am for you”, Clinton said.
In an election where voters are frustrated with the political system, Sanders has tried to turn Clinton’s backing from party leaders into a knock on her candidacy. It has remained a fundraising event for the New Hampshire Democratic Party and has featured every major Democratic presidential candidate over the last 50 years.
“Well, I think Bernie is maybe a little more honest, but she’s good too”, said Deborah Hawkins of Temple.
The Sanders campaign is rechecking results on its own, going precinct by precinct, and is already finding inconsistencies, said Rania Batrice, a Sanders spokeswoman.
And even though Sanders has a long history in the civil rights movement, he has acknowledged that he is not known in the African-American community, a crucial constituency for Democrats.
She said she has nothing but respect for U.S. Sen. He kept coming back to the millions that Clinton has collected from financial interests in speaking fees and campaign contributions over the decades. The credit industry on this bankruptcy bill has spent tens of millions of dollars lobbying, and as their profits grow, they just throw more into lobbying for how they can get laws that will make it easier and easier and easier to drain money out of the pockets of middle class families.
The poll also showed that independent voters are split on which ballot they will take on primary day, with 46 percent saying they will vote Republican and 46 percent saying they will vote Democratic. Hillary Clinton’s daughter was in a town hall meeting when she made the verbal slip-up. “The political games involving Flint need to stop, and the focus needs to be on providing resources and solutions for the families and residents affected by this crisis”.
“Let’s compare notes. Let’s see if they match”, Batrice said Wednesday.
She’s followed by a pair of Republicans, Trump and Marco Rubio, whose better-than-expected finish in Iowa has vaulted him into second place in New Hampshire.

“People kind of opine: ‘OK, you won Iowa, but you know you’re running against a neighbor.’ In New Hampshire, neighbors seem to win”, she said, deflating expectations for Tuesday.
