Clinton seeks to move past email controversy, blames officials

“Contrary to the baseless speculation and conspiracy theories, there has never been any evidence found to support the allegation that Hillary Clinton’s server was hacked”, the release noted.

She handed over 30,000 of the emails to the State Department, but deleted another 30,000 which she said were “personal”.

Despite the no-prosecution decision, Comey had rebuked Clinton and her aides on Tuesday as being “extremely careless” in their handling of classified information and contradicted numerous explanations she’s put forward.

During a casual exchange between Utah’s Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz and Director Comey, a small revelation made by Comey may turn into something bigger.

Chaffetz, the committee chairman, plans to continue the email probe, saying he would ask the attorney general to investigate claims that Clinton may have lied under oath.

“But hey, you know, she’s Hillary Clinton”. “They were not careless and the material that they sent, they did not believe that was classified”. “I know that frustrates people”.

Good morning Director Comey.

“Despite the partisan motivations of this hearing, we are glad it took place and that Director Comey had the opportunity to expand upon his remarks from earlier this week”, Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon said.

“I beg you to fill the gap”.

Still, the FBI director reiterated the investigation’s findings that Clinton did not break the law and no reasonable prosecutor would pursue a case against her.

This is now known to be a false statement, and potentially an instance of perjury if it can be shown that at the time Clinton knew that she had sent and received classified information.

In the Freedom of Information lawsuit brought by The Daily Caller News Foundation, the department to date has failed to deliver any documents showing that Clinton ever enrolled and passed mandatory State Department courses that instructed officials in the proper handling of classified material.

“No, we found work-related emails”, Comey said, “thousands that were not returned”.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch formally closed the case Wednesday. Yet many on the right and some on the left dislike her intensely, and even her admirers say she lacks the public emotion, oratorical skills and reputation for honesty to persuade large numbers of Americans to see things her way. “I don’t think our investigation established she was particularly sophisticated with respect to classified information and the levels and treatment”.

During the Congressional hearing, Comey acknowledged for the first time that there were only three classified emails, and that in each case the emails contained only “partial” markings – meaning, he acknowledged, that they were improperly marked and that as a result, the materials could have been reasonably judged as not classified.
